This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Serbia

Tito was not Serbian but he led an armed struggle against Nazism that gained Yugoslavia (where Serbians lived until dissolving in 2003) high prestige internationally. However, Tito soon turned against Stalin to embark on a path separate from Stalin's and Mao's.

Yugoslavia's "market socialism" devoted to "local control" proves why there is a need for a strong central state and economic cooperation over large distances. The ethnic groups of Yugoslavia did not work together economically and the result was civil war and genocide.
