Revolutionary greetings, My name is X, and I am currently being held captive on Death Row here in Texas. I have been here since 1995 and I hope to have at least a few more years left. I am writing to you now to request a free subscription to MIM Notes. I am attempting to educate others around here in prisoner activism and remove some of the resignation and "woe is me" that resides here. Any support I can get in that struggle is greatly apprecitaed. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter. --A Texas Prisoner September 2001 MIM responds: We print this letter partly to encourage those who feel helpless in the face of the magnitude of our fight against imperialism and for a new society free from oppression. The task before us is indeed great, but our sense of justice and love for the people is itself a reason to live and struggle. We also want to stress to our readers not locked up in prison that it is very expensive for MIM to send in MIM Notes and other revolutionary literature to prisoners every month. We need your financial support to continue this program. The sky is falling The sky probably indeed seemed to be falling on the people of Manhattan, NY as freedom fighters commandeered commercial airlines and crashed the planes into the WTC building 1 and 2, affectionately called the Twin Towers. September 11, 2001 will go down in history as the day imperialism had to grind to a halt and evaluate itself -- something it has never done, nor been made to do. As the planes crashed into these towers with precision, the united $nakes had to brace itself as the towers did, and fell. The ubiquitous question in the settlers land was who did this, and most importantly: Why? Before a serious effort was made to save one of the capitalists who use the towers as their command center in their proxy war, the first question was answered: Osama bin Laden, or any of the other "Islamic Extremists." In fact, based on euro- settler perspectives, all non-whites are guilty of this dastardly act. However, the pseudo- intellectuals had to come up with the answer to the second half of the equation: Why? This answer has proven to be very elusive. At best, the U$ can only speculate and guess. Some of the theories (hint: I don't know) circulating say Osama is seeking revenge for the U$ being stationed in Saudi Arabia. Some say it was for the U$ support of the euro-settler state occupying Palestine (misnomered Israel). Some say it's for the bombing campaign (i.e. imperialism) in Iraq. Some say it's for bombing Libya in 1986. Some say it's for the bombing in Bosnia. Some say it's for the bombing in the Sudan, Afghanistan, etc. etc. No matter which theory is correct, any of them could be the reason. Do you see a recurring theme here? Imperialism/capitalism has given the world a million reasons to lash back and remove this ugly sore from the face of the earth. Imperialism is the reason! Until it is gone, there will be more opportunities to give reason to this reason, i.e. more violence. The ultra-liberal and ultra- conservative agree, amerikkka is the reason. Can any good be gotten from this retaliatory action? Yes. #1, the oppressed of the world should be able to see the U$ is a paper tiger. Anyone can win a war if it's fought on their terms. But that isn't a war, that's a fight. Wars are meant to eradicate the enemy. If you don't want to eradicate him, why go to war. That's what diplomats are for. #2. The oppressed can see that the U$ is vulnerable as everyone else is. We all are humyn, and have like passions. Anyone can lose. #3. The bourgeoisie should take the time to reflect what brought this on, and turn from that path. The common U$ citizen should demand more accountability from their government. They should analyze to see if the world's grievances against euro- hegemony is legit, and then address those grievances. Damn the get tough speeches, and the prepare your daughters and sons for dying speeches. Scientific analysis should occur, and the voice of the oppressed should prevail, both within the artificial U$ borders and outside. Until the voice of the oppressed is heard, the sky will continue to fall! --Chairman of the Oppressed Peoples Party
