[The following are two statements from the Afghan Liberation Organization and one from the Revolutionary Association of Women of Afghanistan (RAWA). MIM has verified their authenticity. In particular, the ALO has a web site and their documents are available there--although sometimes their website is overwhelmed with hits and new visitors are not accepted.] Apparently the ALO has some illusions about the "powerful working class" of the United $tates as stopping the war. We question whether the ALO has a good sense of the balance of forces if it says something like that. Nonetheless, it opposes the war and capitalism. MIM would say it is in a process of struggle with the ALO, so again, we have some differences, but we present these documents to speed up the struggle--International Minister, MIM] ALO At last the day approached for the Islamist terrorist monster to devour its creator. However, it is not the creator but the innocent American people that are paying the price for the bloody act of the monster. The horrible criminal attack of 11th Sep. on New York and Washington struck thousands of Americans and non-Americans and made them mournful. Afghanistan Liberation Organization which has been struggling against the most rabid section of these forces and has lost its leader and tens of its outstanding cadres and members in the plots and terrorist attacks of the mentioned criminals, understands well the dimensions of the11th September horrific incident. And for this, it expresses its deep sympathy with the families and friends of the victims and with the US people as a whole. In response to the attack, the US government is preparing for an unprecedented war, a war with Osama and Taliban as its foremost targets. But do the majority of the American people know that the creator and trainer of the dirtiest Afghan terrorist groups as well as Osama since 20 years is no one else but the US government itself? Do they know that US government could destroy all these terrorists and heroine-kings exactly the way it did with Noriega of Panama if it paid the least attention and concern about the far-reaching interests of the American and Afghan people and democratic values and human rights? The US didn't do because it wanted to use them as its running dogs during the cold war. Now as the religious terrorism has reared its degusting head and slap in the face of its yesterday's mentor, the US government shouldn't take the revenge of the appalling attack from the people of Afghanistan, the people who have already been terrorized, looted and impoverished by the Northern Alliance, Taliban and Osamas. None of the media in the West explains when, how and by whom the Islamist terrorists were created, trained and equipped, because in this way the one who has to be held responsible by the people of America in nobody else but those at the very helm of the US. Apparently America, at first thought that through fostering the fundamentalist groups in Afghanistan it could obtain a base in the heart of Asia for achieving its political and economic aims. But it seems that the control of most of these religious hired murderers is no longer in the hand of the US. And they, possessing vast financial sources and a safe haven such as Afghanistan are going to wage a "crusade", to which Mr. Bush has also indicated The ruling classes of America, without considering the interests of the majority of the US people, are not taking the incident of 11th September as a warning to completely wash its hands off the fundamentalist organizations and regimes, let alone their elimination. On the contrary, they want to exploit it as a favorable opportunity to suppress the oppressed nations and anti- imperialism and anti-reactionary liberation movements. And by doing so, it not only will solve its domestic quarrel with the Islamist fundamentalists in its favor but also strengthen and stabilize its undisputed domination on the world and whitewash its vulnerability. In addition, US, through this new pretext, tries to suppress and hold back the ever-increasing of anti-war and anti-globalization movements within America and in its Western allies which brings under question the very principle of capitalist system. Though even in Muslim countries, most people don't support the fundamentalist Islamists, the US blind retaliatory act could change the situation in favor of the fundamentalist forces. Nonetheless, we hope that with the fading of today's emotions, the US government, under the pressure of people, especially the powerful working class of the US, won't find it possible to add fuel to the religious contradictions in the world and as a consequence further vitalize the religious and non-religious reactionary forces by its militaristic policies. Afghanistan Liberation Organization (ALO) which has been engaged in struggle against the dirty religious creatures of US, Iran, Pakistan and some other Islamic countries for years, now too will continue its struggle against the Taliban and other reactionary bands till the end. Liberation of Afghanistan is not possible unless the setups dependent to Pakistan and criminal regimes of Iran, Saudi Arabia etc. are overthrown. Cooperation of the Afghan and other people of the world is the only way for a successful and effective struggle against religious terrorism. And it is the task of all proletarian and revolutionary movements of America and other developed capitalist countries to practically demonstrate their inspiring impact and presence in the current showdown of religious terrorists and their yesterday's masters by securing a militant solidarity with the progressive movements in underdeveloped and backward countries and in the first place Afghanistan. Afghanistan Liberation Organization (ALO) 26th Sep. 2001 [This next document is about the U.$. bombings of Afghanistan in 1998.] Aggression Of US Imperialism On Afghanistan Should Be Responded With The Destruction Of Its Taliban And Jehadi Lackeys! Afghanistan and Sudan was the target of US missile attacks some days ago, proving once again its hostile and aggressive nature. The targets were apparently to destroy terrorist camps especially those of Saudi born Osama bin Laden. Imposing war and bullying weaker countries is in the nature of imperialism without which it cannot continue its aggressive and parasitic life. American imperialism, which has been using the pretext of human rights and democracy against its opponents whenever it suited her, is surprisingly very quick in annihilating humans and supporting the most tyrannical and brutal regimes in order to reach its selfish interests. The fundamentalist terrorists who are committing the most horrible crimes in Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Algeria and other Muslim countries were trainees of CIA who supported them financially and militarily especially in the last two decades. These were proven by American fact finding sources working on the trail of Egyptian Sheikh Omar and his terrorist gang and numerous other sources. Osama bin Landen is only a rebellious pawn and they have decided to punish him for daring to rebel against the master's orders, of course under the name of "antiterrorist action"! This despite the fact that the United States supports fundamentalist terrorists in Algeria, Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan, etc. as long as they are useful for the US's plans. Traditionally the CIA is nice to its servants until they are no longer useful, or become lazy or rebellious servants, in which case they become disposable, e.g. Noriega of Panama. The same thing was witnessed in Afghanistan when the US armed and supported Golbuddin and other fundamentalists to the teeth, but when the people found them intolerable and excessively disgusting, they were quickly replace by new lackeys --the Taliban. US could easily wipe out Osama bin Laden if it wanted to. Isn't he living under the protection of their agents? If the US is really against terrorism why does it not strike him in the arms of his protectors who are following the steps of Jehadi traitors and are even more extreme in their dependency, backwardness and terror- mongering. But the US is not whole-heartedly against terrorism, she is only angered by her mad dogs. With this attack on Afghanistan and Sudan, the US also wanted to send the message to her western rivals, especially France, that after the establishment of Taliban, Afghanistan has entered into its domain and they shouldn't try in vain to revive Rabbani, Masood and Company. This attack was a good opportunity for Iran where overnight the "great Satan" became transformed into the "great saviour". Iranian fundamentalists are trying to hide the crimes and ineptness of their regime by diverting the people's attention towards a war with Afghanistan and in this way save the crisis- and fatigue-stricken Islamic Republic from the inferno of a mass uprising by the freedom loving people of Iran. It devolves upon the revolutionary forces in Iran and Afghanistan to change the direction of this situation through coordination and understanding from that of conflict between two criminal religious groups to that of a freedom struggle and a struggle against Taliban fascism and "Vilayat-e-Faqeeh" theocracy under the slogan of "Down with Iranian regime and down with Taliban and Jehadi regimes". We believe that only the destruction of fundamentalism will hinder the hands of Imperialism and reactionaries from exploiting our country and only success of a democratic revolution would give us the power to stop the blatant aggression of Imperialism and its reactionary lackeys on our land. Our people who taught a lesson to Russia and its Khalqi and Parchami servants will not let the traitorous crimes of fundamentalists go without punishment. Down with Imperialism and its fundamentalist lackeys! Long live unity between our ethnic groups! Afghanistan Liberation Organisation Sep.9,1998 RAWA statement on the terrorist attacks in the US The people of Afghanistan have nothing to do with Osama and his accomplices On September 11, 2001 the world was stunned with the horrific terrorist attacks on the United States. RAWA stands with the rest of the world in expressing our sorrow and condemnation for this barbaric act of violence and terror. RAWA had already warned that the United States should not support the most treacherous, most criminal, most anti-democracy and anti-women Islamic fundamentalist parties because after both the Jehadi and the Taliban have committed every possible type of heinous crimes against our people, they would feel no shame in committing such crimes against the American people whom they consider "infidel". In order to gain and maintain their power, these barbaric criminals are ready to turn easily to any criminal force. But unfortunately we must say that it was the government of the United States who supported Pakistani dictator Gen. Zia-ul Haq in creating thousands of religious schools from which the germs of Taliban emerged. In the similar way, as is clear to all, Osama Bin Laden has been the blue-eyed boy of CIA. But what is more painful is that American politicians have not drawn a lesson from their pro-fundamentalist policies in our country and are still supporting this or that fundamentalist band or leader. In our opinion any kind of support to the fundamentalist Taliban and Jehadies is actually trampling democratic, women's rights and human rights values. If it is established that the suspects of the terrorist attacks are outside the US, our constant claim that fundamentalist terrorists would devour their creators, is proved once more. The US government should consider the root cause of this terrible event, which has not been the first and will not be the last one too. The US should stop supporting Afghan terrorists and their supporters once and for all. Now that the Taliban and Osama are the prime suspects by the US officials after the criminal attacks, will the US subject Afghanistan to a military attack similar to the one in 1998 and kill thousands of innocent Afghans for the crimes committed by the Taliban and Osama? Does the US think that through such attacks, with thousands of deprived, poor and innocent people of Afghanistan as its victims, will be able to wipe out the root-cause of terrorism, or will it spread terrorism even to a larger scale? From our point of view a vast and indiscriminate military attacks on a country that has been facing permanent disasters for more than two decades will not be a matter of pride. We don't think such an attack would be the expression of the will of the American people. The US government and people should know that there is a vast difference between the poor and devastated people of Afghanistan and the terrorist Jehadi and Taliban criminals. While we once again announce our solidarity and deep sorrow with the people of the US, we also believe that attacking Afghanistan and killing its most ruined and destitute people will not in any way decrease the grief of the American people. We sincerely hope that the great American people could DIFFERENTIATE between the people of Afghanistan and a handful of fundamentalist terrorists. Our hearts go out to the people of the US. Down with terrorism! Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) September 14, 2001
