This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

You can help; There's plenty to do

How can I help?

Tasks:

Typing for California prisoner study group: this is a study group of political literature run through the mail. We type up responses and distribute to participants. It is a great opportunity to study and learn with an advanced group of revolutionary prisoners.

Poster design: help us make better more eye catching posters

Press contact: get our events and news out to local media

MIM Notes distributors: Even if you see the paper in your area we need help getting it there regularly. If it's not in your area, we really need your help.

Prisoner correspondants: help us respond to letters from prisoners and fill book orders. This is focused on political education (both for us and for the prisoners).

Build the Prisoner Re-lease on life program. For more info check out our informational flier. Contact us with ideas, resources and to get updated on recent progress.

Collect petition signatures to shut down the SHU. For info on this campaign check out MIM's Prison organizing page and join us at upcoming events.

Organize a film showing or talk on your campus, in your church, or in your community. We'll provide the speaker or film on the anti-imperialist topic of your choice. Some popular choices include prison oppression, the Patriot Act, imperialism and revolution in the Philippines, and amerikan militarism.

How can I contribute?

Wish list for donations:

Money: always need cash

Meeting Space: we need a free, regular meeting space to help us get this stuff done as a group

Books: we need political lit(Black Panthers, Malcolm, Mao, Marx, Lenin and books on national liberation struggles are most frequent requests), dictionaries and law books for our Books for Prisoners program

Legal Work: Our comrades behind bars are constantly battling with the prison authorities to get our literature, letters and books. We need help bringing these censorship cases and other legal battles to the courts to protect our ability to have free speech.

Computers: particularly laptops but anything working is useful.

Resources for our Prisoner Re-lease on Life Program, informational flier

Photocopier or cheap/free photocopying services

Envelopes/Stamps: a small regular expense to keep up on our organizing within prisons

Web: Help us to expand and improve our presence on the web

Art: we always need more revolutionary art of all kinds
