"The petty-bourgeois democrats in the capitalist countries, whose
foremost sections are represented by the second and Two-and-a-Half
Internationals, serve today as the mainstay of capitalism, since they
retain an influence over the majority, or a considerable section, of the
industrial and commercial workers and office employees who are afraid
that if revolution breaks out they will lose the relative petty-bourgeois
prosperity created by the privileges of imperialism."
