How do you know MIM is not spies? You don't.

*U.$. government admits over 100,000 spies

October 9, 2006

"You say that spies outnumber communists in some imperialist countries and others using 'Maoist' rhetoric are spies, and I agree with you that it's pretty suspicious to hear about alleged Maoists calling for the defeat of a Third World country by U.$. imperialism. What's to say you are not spies too?"

MIM replies: How do you know MIM is not spies? You don't. MIM is also guaranteeing you that some of the people who are nestled beside us are spies. So how are you going to change how you work and go about things is the real question.

What you can know most easily is the logic of the struggle. Serious revolutionary groups will be penetrated by spies in the United $tates and other imperialist countries, so the question is if those spies manage to alter the political stand of the organization in question. The answer is that they quite often do and don't want anyone to know.

At the moment, the U.$. government is leading some organizations that it does not tell the public about. In a drawn out court case, facts come out, such as that a federal agent in a Black Panther Party trial committed murder. One reason that autocrats want military tribunals is that they would like to cover up the crimes of their agents while still collecting money for military and security contracts along with salaries for related careers. The people favoring military tribunals are afraid of what the public will learn.

Another sign of a spy is endless vacillation so that nothing gets done. When an organization gets nothing done, it may be on account of penetration by agents who sabotage the group.

Spies also point to other spies with baseless rumors. MIM always connects its charges regarding spies to lengthy articles of substance. Beware those who spread rumors or have one-liners. We are all having problems with spies, but how far does it go to affect our line is the question. Are we still rowing the boat toward our strategic goals?

The above concerns how we can tell what is going on with spies, but often times the problem with spies is in how the proletarian camp deals with spies. On the one hand we have the Liberal response which is just to ignore them or treat them like something cool we saw in a James Bond movie. On the other hand, we have people who try to struggle over spies but end up off track. We find that people spinning their heads on this question are also the ones most likely to confuse authority or credibility with truth. There's no real way to know people subjectively and guess their credibility. That is a myth useful to bourgeois ideology. We have to learn how to find the truth even in a situation where spies are bound to dominate in the majority and where the sincere but vacillating petty-bourgeoisie is the majority of the remainder. That is the reality of revolutionary struggle inside u.$. borders, so if we want the freedom to consider revolutionary views and analysis, then spies and befogged petty-bourgeoisie have to be taken as a granted. If that makes the task of politics seem impossible to you, it would be on account of a false method of gathering the truth. That has to be dealt with before MIM's answer to this question can make sense.
