This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.
Maoist Internationalist Movement

I agree with you. You are preaching to the converted.

  • See also, Why not tone it down?

MIM hears this opinion a lot, perhaps thrown in with why not tone it down? In terms of the big words that we Leninists use, it's a common example of "right opportunism."

MIM forms vanguard scientific organizations precisely because we do not believe politics is a casual subject, but rather an earnest scientific matter requiring deep study and advancement through conflicting interpretations of data. So a persyn may agree with MIM on some points, but how much overall?

In all sciences there are lower level degrees of unity and higher degrees. Physicists may agree to use math; biologists may agree on Darwin to a high degree and most people agree on the usefulness of counting and we usually communicate amongst ourselves with base ten. MIM attempts to push the science of political economy, revolution etc. to the maximum just like any science. Hence, to anyone who says they agree with MIM right off the top of their heads, we say good, but you probably just have not read enough of our material to say that.

We in the communist movement are the underdog. We must always seek to improve our scientific understanding and unity based on that until we are qualified to overthrow the bourgeoisie. In the other sciences, we rarely hear anyone say that everyone is in agreement and there is nothing left to study or improve. The exception might be something like a company that only owns oil and says solar power is hopeless. Such an oil company might run down the science and say it is finished. Likewise, the science of revolution and socialism has no appeal to the bourgeoisie who says it is finished.

At the same time, in practice, MIM is not preaching to the converted. We leave our newspaper free wherever we can--not just for those who are converted. We receive much hate mail and we make this FAQ material available because of common questions and concerns.

If it seems that MIM is too "extreme," that is on account of a difference of opinion on what it will take to bring society to a peaceful and harmonious state. Even when speaking with our enemies, MIM seeks to indicate to them how much change will be necessary, how far we have to go to get to what MIM is talking about--genuine communism. People who think it is a piece-of-cake or a nice walk in the park do not live in today's world.
