This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Where can I join a public discussion?

Throughout MIM's web site, we have posted letters to us and our responses. There are also threads in our contemporary discussions page, such as the old debates from the now defunct "Marxism Space" and our Catharine MacKinnon page. These debates are finished.

MIM has another unofficial discussion group. Click here.

Former discussion of Yahoo group

MIM does have a live public discussion forum on Yahoo, but we would like users to know some about its difficulties first.

Potential recruits should write to mim@mim.org if within U.$. borders and mim3@mim.org outside U.$. borders. Recruits with specific information needed to do work should skip the Yahoo discussion at least for concrete recruiting questions.

There are two additional problems with the Yahoo forum. One is that it is not reliable, because Yahoo has its choice as to whether or not to censor it and waste its contents at any time. Secondly, and more importantly, Yahoo also keeps information about its visitors. When you or any visitor goes to the Yahoo site, Yahoo collects information about you including your computer address and previous web site visited.

There are ways to avoid this problem. For self-service, you can disable your cookies and exit your browser before going to this Yahoo site and make it your first web site visited every time. This in itself does not prevent all Yahoo spying on you.

Another approach is to invest in software to make your computer less trackable.

For those still interested, we do debate our enemies at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Maoism . One last problem is that it is technically difficult to join.

YAHOO GROUP CLOSED, SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE: YOU CAN READ THE OLD MESSAGES WITHOUT JOINING
