Matt Welch attempts to make Ralph Nader look bad to the "middle-of-the-roaders" by linking Nader to MIM: " Reason magazine could have asked Nader about his supporters in the Maoist Internationalist Movement waving around signs that say 'capitalism sucks.'" It's classic red-baiting of Nader by Welch.
MIM never endorsed Ralph Nader and at the very time Matt Welch wrote about us as linked to Nader, MIM Notes was running articles criticizing Nader. We informed Matt Welch on this point and he agreed to look into it, but he never did get back to us despite our prodding. As of December 7, 2002, the factually incorrect article is still running on the OJR web page.
