MIM Notes 186 May 15 1999 Yugoslavia shells Albania In typical Balkan fashion, the war in Yugoslavia has now spread to Albania. On April 11, Yugoslavia shelled border towns in Albania, not just primarily Albanian Kosovo. A journalist and three members of the Kosovo Liberation Army tried to cross into Kosovo from Albania when the shelling hit and injured them. It's very important to realize that no war goes exactly as planned even by a superpower such as the United $tates. The world population can no longer afford these sorts of ad-hoc wars on behalf of the international capitalist system. We must not permit the ruling class to take chances with our lives for the benefit of their inherently unstable world order. Source: New York Times 12 April 1999, p. a10.
