MIM NOTES No. 197, November 1, 1999 Attention Prisoners: Make sure you write MIM at least once every three months to ensure that we keep you on the mailing list for MIM Notes. MIM does not accept certified mail. If it is your first time receiving MIM Notes, you need to write within one month and then write every three months after that. MIM Notes is often censored and comrades are transferred. The mailing list policy is necessary to avoid wasting limited funds. We no longer include reminders with the paper. If the envelop label has a number (9) on it, our last record of your correspondence was from August and the November MIM Notes will be the last until you write us again. Similarly, if the envelope has a (10), unless you write, the December issues will be the last mailed to you. And remember that mail gets returned unless we have your full legal name, number and address. All prisoners interested in organizing United Struggle from Within should have received a general 8 page letter regarding direction and specific tasks of USW. (These were mailed between April and July.) All USW comrades interested in participating in the continental study group should have received the packet of Mao's Three essays on Philosophy in the months of June and July. Study group participants should have also received the follow-up discussion and additional information during August. (Some confusion has arisen because of censorship -- if you received one of the packets, you were also sent the other.) Participants in the study group are expected to actively contribute. Prisoners interested in the STP Prisoners' Legal Clinic should have received letters over the last few months detailing the needs of the PLC and MIM Legal Notes. If you want more information and have not gotten it, contact the MIM Prison Minister.
