MIM Notes No. 200 December 15, 1999 Revolutionary history of the ALKQN: The Origins in Chicago MIM prints this history to educate our readers and expand the United Front against imperialism. This is a follow-up to the article printed in MIM Notes June 15, 1999 in which Lord Grim gave a brief history of the ALKQN. Below Grim offers a brief correction to his account of history in response to this article submitted by a veteran of the ALKQN. ALKQN history grows clearer On the 15 June 99 MIM Notes article (#188) I, Lord Grim wrote a brief synopsis of the ALKQN. After receiving a more detailed background of the "genesis," I stand before you corrected. In the description where I said that during the 1940s and 1950s the Chicago ALKQN "went underground," this was not the case. The following article expresses a correct version by those whom lived the Chicago experience. I bow to that wisdom and publicly apologize for the error. The importance of establishing such an article (MIM notes 188 p.6-7) was and is to dispel the misinformation of federally (pigs) encapsulated renegade chapters whom by their misinformation recognize any other state besides the Motherland as National headquarters and further recognize any other renegade literature besides the sacred KM/C as their "bible." Another intention of the article was to deliver a pre- emptive strike against any other misguided chapters calling themselves 'autonomous' as did one major and renown state leader in a previous article. By writing the article my intention was to prevent such a misapprehension reaching epidemic proportions. Why a public forum? The divisive-intending philosophy of "autonomy" and the non- sanctioned "CHARTERS" if allowed to continue profoundly and nationally unchecked, could present a clear and present danger to the stability of a national union headed by Las Coronas (IL.). In public forums misrepresentations via Primetime, Nightline and Hard Copy occurred. Simply put, fire fought fire. I used a revolutionary credible forum (MIM Notes) to combat the aforementioned potentially destructive dilemma. It was an outlet that needed to be used to reach a national ALKQN because it was a national ALKQN which was misinformed about the "autonomy" and the "third World charter" or "Conn. Charter," documents that are not true inherited philosophies, therefore a potential weapon for the oppressor to use to conquer and divide. This doesn't mean that followers of these philosophies are False Kings, they are merely misinformed. New England and Tri-State comrades know by experience that I do not lie about the potential damage and divisive impact. Using my name and my achievements/failures was intended to lend credibility to my stipulation that the KM/C was/is in FACT the divine illumination and no such "charter' exists within the philosophical confines of the ALKQN. It was not an attempt at self-praise. Hearing the "charter' and "autonomy' disavowed by an East Coast ,"known", veterano would help illumine truth from fiction and by the responses received the intention was successful. I thank the elder comrade, author of the article in this issue for putting me on point and rest assured that this error at least will not be repeated. Many years and miles have dimmed the accuracy of the East Coast Kings/Queens history of the Motherland. May the elder's article be the end of that. Loyalty to Las Coronas, the KM/C, the Nation and anti- imperialism... Amor De Rey!!! --Lord Grim ALKQN origins in Chicago ...As a 47 years old urban veteran within the ALKQN for 37 years and one of the originals of the first chapter under the sun, let me shed some (light) to the interviews with K-Grim, K-Blood and K- Tone etc., etc. The genesis of the Reyes Latinos took place on the West/Center side of Chicago (Chi-Town) on Laflin and Van Buren, a Latino, Irish and Italian community separated by racial boundaries. Where the color of your skin denied and permitted entry, depending on your destination. The founders of the Reyes Latinos were a small group of Latinos under the leadership of RIP Juan Rodriguez, Burgos Carrasco brothers and in their revolutionary mentality. Its creation was based on the ideology of being the vanguards and teachers of independence for all Latinos, subjected to the constant harassment, abuse and other oppressive means within this imperialistic country. Yes, its battles during those years were mainly against the whites and Blacks, who felt threatened by our presence and show of unity which came from our Latino Pride (Brown Pride). It wasn't until the 1950s that the full force of the revolutionary mentality took effect upon the first chapter under the sun. At no time did they, during the 1940s or 1950s go underground nor did they disband and neglect their struggle. They merely stayed out of the media eyes, while continuing to groom their young to lead, rather than be led. Their system of unification remained the same under the leadership of Juan, until 1962 when he committed suicide and the leadership was voted in favor of RIP-Papo King, [C. S.] (aka) Karate and Eddie L.B. They, together with RIP Manuel Diaz Rodriguez (aka Lil Man), RIP-Rory, RIP-Fonfy, RIP-Sinbad, RIP- Celine (aka) Montezuma, Eddie (aka) Bronco Tiger, Fat Carlos, Pacheco, Mash, [S] brothers and [C] brothers, originated the second chapter of Reyes on Leavitt and Schiller. Whereas, they were met with resistance by other gangs, until Papo-King and Eddie L.B. along with other Reyes were called to a universal meeting by the Young Lords gang, who had become the Young Lords Party, with a revolutionary mentality under the leadership of Jose "Cha Cha" Jimenez. Through this universal, the second national call was made for all the oppressed to unite. As the ALKQN and YLP joined their forces in a common cause against imperialism of any form, new comrades (members) were being initiated as Reyes or YLP. Together they were able to unite the War Lords, Young Sinners, Pierce Syndicates and other Latino gangs. Those same clicks lost many of their members to our true revolutionary calling. During the early 1960s and not long after universal the third chapter of ALKQN was originated on the South Side of Chicago, under the leadership of RIP-Dino, [S.D.] and B.K. Like no other organization they started branching out all through the city -- the heart of the United States of Amerika. It was in 1967 that they received world-wide recognition through the media who were covering the stories of the first Latino riot in the history of Chicago, Ill. It was on that date that the capitalist imperialist storm troopers of this government saw and felt the true force of the Reyes Latinos (ALKQN), when three calls from RIP-Papo King, Eddie-L.B., and Bronco Tiger brought hundreds of followers to Division Street in protest against the (imperialistic storm troopers) police and their beating of Celine (aka) Montezuma. Whereas, the police and protesters came toe to toe with injuries to both sides and the mayor had to call in the National Guards (Goon Squad) to bring back order to the city of Chicago, which had also been cut off from any citizen attempting to enter the West-Side, and East Village. After the riot, the Latino communities were placed on the map as battle zones and up til this day, continue to be targeted by the judicial system and other law enforcement agencies of the imperialist puercos. The late 1960s and early 1970s brought about the outbreak of gang wars and drugs and for a time it became difficult to control and maintain order. The ALKQN suffered a mental stage of separation, where many remained true to our ideology and others strayed toward self oppression, due to psychological warfare being used by the system against the oppressed. Of all the obstacles the ALKQN had been confronted with, it was the drugs which were winning the battle and taking the lives of many brothers and sisters. It also slid into the ranks of authority up to the Pres. Papo-King and Vice Pres. [C] (aka) Karate. The death of Eddie L.B. (over a wrong call) made it clear that besides rules and regulations, written law had to be implemented, which held no exceptions for anyone in the ALKQN. The year 1972 brought with it the first most effective and still being followed KM/C and other ALKQN literature whose authors were RIP Manuel Diaz Rodriguez (aka) Lil Man, RIP Johnny Martinez (aka) Ringo, Eddie (aka) Bronco Tiger, RIP Dino, Sunchild, Gustabo and B.K. New order was made law by this quorum of seven authoritative figures and the new king stage of kingism became the light in accordance to the KM/C. Through the authority of the KM/C laws the present leadership was asked "to resign" and other members were asked "to kick their heroin habits" or face charges before the newly impromptu counsel. RIP Papo King and Carmelo (aka) Karate resigned and others were made outcasts for setting bad examples for our young revolutionaries and disrupting the ideology of our people in search of freedom. The newly elected coronas brought the ALKQN back to its revolutionary ideologies as the Lion Tribe and along with their faithful comrades, gave back to the people a sense of respect, power, security and acceptance and also opened the path for other ethnic groups to become a part of us. The 1970s up to the present year 1999, have also been part of obstacles still being set by the imperialistic agencies of this government. And these years have also been sad years, due to the deaths and imprisonment of many of our beloved comrades -- brothers and sisters. Yet, the teachings and spirit of our ancient forefathers live within us, as do the love, support and encouragement of our revolutionary brothers and sisters, which continue to assist us in upholding the youth centers, drug abuse programs, GED classes and other programs which we have co-founded for the people. The retirement of (Las Coronas) the old man and B.K. along with the ALKQN memberships blessings was given to bestow the honor of being the two new (Coronas) indefinite leaders of every chapter of the ALKQN nationwide to ALKQN Tiger and K. Tino. Whereas, they also maintain a strong revolutionary spirit and belief in the same goals for every chapter of the ALKQN under the KM/C and other anti-imperialist literature. Their principles are those of love, honor, obedience, sacrifice and righteousness and bringing all our international chapters to a greater unification with each other and others' anti imperialist organizations. My name is not necessary to be printed along with what I have shed some light and complete truth on. Many of the names mentioned are brothers who are either serving long prison stretches within the capitalist concentration camps or have passed away. Praise be to them for they are worthy of such. Amor de Corona! I extend a revolutionary salute to all my comrades and support MIM, as well as other anti-imperialist organizations. To the New York chapters bear witness to RIP Manuel Manolo Rodriguez (aka) Indio and our praise to the memory of being one of the original co-founders of the Brooklyn Tiger Tribe of the ALKQN. Let us be righteous and give the credit and recognition where it is honorably due. MIM adds: By studying the lessons of the past we will build a more successful revolutionary future. We were unable to verify that all of the names given were of people sufficiently politically exposed that this article would not cause them further persecution. For those names that were not verified at press time we used the first letter of the name in brackets (i.e. [A] or [C]). We invite our readers who have been a part of this history to send us your comments. And let us know if you can verify that the names omitted are of people either dead or completely exposed to the pigs. We welcome article submissions for future issues of MIM Notes.
