MIM Notes 208 April 15, 2000 Regarding the Evolution of Lumpen Organizations By Lord Grim, ALKQN "Revolution, whateva' son, my concern revolves around self, 'Nam Sayin'. 'Ain't a mahfuckin' thing given to me; I gotta earn mines a cat's gotta know if dey ain't no pay, dey ain't know play. 'amsayin' I hear you all that Malcolm X shit but my world is green and amma do what I gotta do to feed me and mines. Besides most of these cat's scream about revolution 'ain't got da real ones to do dirt so they stress all that peace shit. With or without MA' clique is thug all day love all night. Violence dat's just a fact of life." (-quoted from a recent conversation) MIM sent me an article regarding a profile on O.G. Mack in the New York Times (NYT) he's alleged to head the UBN (United Blood Nation). Once again while reading this article I was able to distinguish the foul smell of my cell toilet from the articles (the article smelled worse). There is no doubt in my mind that the reporter Chris Hedges conspired in a counter intelligence (see: CONTELPRO) ploy. Whether he did this under official capacity as a representative of NYT or to promote his source ties within the various bogus law enforcement agencies (NYPD etc) is the only question. (Police sources are integral to any aspiring NY reporter as it reflects the sensationalist media's demand for alleged "news"). For the Black and Brown Force it is obvious the dangerous bias exposed in said article. The intention of the article besides providing a cheap tabloid thrill to the bourgeoisie element (to take a look at the dark underbelly of the ghetto-also a bogus notion) was to make OG Mack appear weak hence diminish his influence with his peers (Bloods). By reducing the political progress (if that is the case) to a mere "eight Blocks along 183rd st. in the Bronx." It should be noted that this bogus style of article which has the intention of discrediting the leaders political motivation (and the movements), influence, cohesion of the group, and to promote internal/external divisions of minds has been recently practiced against the NY ALKQN and only negative effects resulted. (They also attempted to revive the political power of their movement). I am sure that there have been individuals/groups in NY with comparable influence who never received such a "profile" in the NYT. The common ground seems to be that every time an urban organization and its leaders attempt to politicize their respective organizations negative public profiles pop up that encourage divisiveness and suggest that the person in question is insincere and/or manipulative while other groups who carry no political motivation and carry the same kind of influence are seldomly mentioned with the same magnitude. This pattern suggests that there is a definite agenda and it is one of counterintelligence. I cannot vouch for the sincerity of O.G. Mack because I do not know him however it's obvious that he plays a principal part in the history of U.B.N. and if the UBN turns into a political movement then he should be credited... I began this article with a quote of the average response of those lumpen comrades who find the revolutionary initiative bogus. Lumpens who support this response knowing the danger to their people (Black/Brown Force) and themselves are in a precarious position. Under imperialist rule they become collaborators. Yes! I said collaborators!! Your mode of life aids the pigs objectives in dividing and keeping your people under control but that's obvious to you isn't it. I'm not saying anything new to you. You just refuse to give up your meager capitalist privileges to fight for YOUR OWN FREEDOM. Whether you have become Hip Hop icons or are in Krill sales, you aid the oppressor in keeping the focus off of the people's revolution and into a false amerikan dream and petty capitalism. You would trade immediate gratification for the self-determination of your people, you consciously betray your people. Fuck Al Capone, Fuck Dolce and Gabbana, Fuck Cristal and when accountability must be taken eventually we must fuck you too because this isn't a race war -- it's a class war, (racism is a by-product of that war) and oppression doesn't come in one color (though that may be the case now). After a victory of imperialism you, the self-involved lumpen, also become a threat seeing that your mind will be subject to bourgeoisie influence and/or aspirations. Where there is no SINCERE redemption ther emust be sincere rectification!!! It is a fact that the true revolutionary will not "do dirt" for the sake of status recognition and/or material motives. But do not underestimate the fact that he will "do dirt" when it is incumbent upon the revolution to rectify and/or progress the people's anti-imperialist initiative. I have been intimate with violence and I know "bourgie" interests (not a new concept for most Ghetto Brothers) so I stand before you in redemption yet this does not hinder my obligation to my people. You have an obligation also. In fact you as a member of the UBN are attempting to hinder OG Mack's initiative (if politicization be the case) I suggest you re-examine the purpose and potential of your group and rectify your attitude. Is it worth attempting to transform lumpen organizations? I have traveled through several ghettos throughout the nation and abroad and I recognize a sad fact: loss of faith. The rebellious fever that our ghettos had in the 60's and 70s is no longer the dominant school of through but there is an underbelly of seething anger that one feels directed towards the powers that be. The lumpen associations are the outlet of this anger, in many places misdirected but nevertheless potentially potent in its resource and catalyzing effect (if channeled properly). Such groups as YLP and BPP have proven a high potential to transform into a correct revolutionary cadre. Only the UBN knows if O.G. Mack is sincere. If he is serious about promoting a revolutionary mentality among his Blood peers then all the Bloods and beyond should support him, if he is not sincere then elect a successor who is. "The first transformation begins with those who recognize and are ready to assume the responsibility for reflecting on our experience and the experiences off other revolutionary men and wimmin. Thus the first transformation can begin by our own re- thinking."(New Afrikan journals). You stand before a crossroads and you have to choose between the path of Al Capone; a criminal who ended up dying because of his greed, lust and a burnt dick or you could go the route of Marcus Garvy a man who was sincere about changing the history of his people. There is no great love between the ALKQN and the UBN and as a 'Nation Man' "amma hold crown" but there are those among you in the UBN and other groups be they in TX, AZ, IL, NY or CA (etc.) who desire to see a political change in your association. (Those of you who know what I'm talking about feel it right in your gut as you read this.) To those I invite you to rise above the animosity and the pain, to see if we as individuals or as a collective can initiate a fundamental evolution in the history of the lumpen organization. We are all aware of where our loyalties lie and none of us seek to challenge that but we must also recognize that our greatest loyalty must be with the International Third World and Black/Brown Force. If there are collective groups and leadership who agree with these words and seek to find a unity with the ALKQN to progress the revolutionary initiative then please reach me and we'll form a dialogue that will eventually lead you to my national superiors (if you are a reliable representative) about your place in the peoples alliance if all parties are in agreement. The political line espoused by MIM is one whose intention is to serve Black/Brown force. Their shit is tight which is why I'm proud to serve as a columnist. I encourage you to contact them on how you as an individual or collective can serve the anti-imperialist or socialist struggle. Revolution isn't encased in platinum, it is the fundamental truth of your people. A truth with such "cut, brilliance, and clarity" that for the righteous soul who seeks it, it outshines any diamond even as it is mired with much sacrifice. I leave you all with such a quote from King Wise (Supreme) "the truth is like a lighted candle that is encompassed by darkness, [yet] it's bright illumination is visible to those who see the light."
