"Open Borders" news

The deaths of 14 migrants trying to cross the u.$. Mexico 
Border on 20 May rightly inspired comrades to step up work 
on campaign calling for an end to "Operation Gatekeeper" and 
for open borders generally. Comrades designed and started 
putting up the posters shown on this page all over southern 
California. The RAIL branch in Santa Barbara called a public 
meeting to discuss "Operation Gatekeeper" and violence along 
the border generally. Many of the circa twenty people in 
attendance stayed on to write letters protesting 
"Gatekeeper" to local bourgeois media. MIM also received 
another organizational endorsement for the "Open Borders" 
campaign: "The CAU$E [Coalition Against U.$. Empire] fully 
endorses MIM's call to open U$ borders. Open borders within 
the imperialist nations can only assist the international 
proletariat and weaken the privilege of the so-called 'First 
World.'"
