Other Godzilla films had some overtones of 
environmentalism. This one has no redeeming value.

"Destroy All Monsters" might be fun/scary for kids 
to see so many monsters fighting and destroying 
things. However, even the international flavor of 
the movie is watered down and the Japanese state 
appears class and nation neutral. If only the 
rulers could play bad weather and disasters on TV 
every day to distract the oppressed and exploited. 
(Strike that: they do.)

Once again, the bourgeoisie imagines itself 
universal somehow by assuming that more advanced 
species with the capability to live forever in 
molten lava are even more oppressive than the 
Earth-bound bourgeoisie of today. It's called 
"projecting."
