"Reign of Fire"

This is a typical made-for-Amerikkkan-summer 
action flick with not much to it. It started 
showing July 12th in the united $tates.

The year is 2020 AD after wars have destroyed most 
of humyn civilization--wars against fire-
breathing dragons that took over the Earth, while 
living on ashes. Of course the scenes with the 
dragons are the only ones worth anything.

In the survivalist future, the few remaining 
Amerikkkans are still the best-armed and the 
English survivors hold the initial opinion that 
"the only thing worse than dragons is Americans." 
As the movie goes forward, the English learn to 
trust the Amerikkkans who perform invaluable 
dragon-slaying--and maybe we'll be seeing this 
film used in Army recruitment ads.

When the two main men characters and one female go 
on a big mission, we know in advance that the 
Amerikkkan male is going to die and the English 
man is going to go home with the Amerikkkan womyn
--trite. The film crew even devotes a few scenes to 
building a slight tension along these lines. Why bother?

Then again, that seems to be the challenge to the 
movie audience of Amerikkkan summer: why did you bother? We don't
know, but people making money can predict that you will.
