This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

August, 2001 monthly website report

by Web Minister

August saw MIM gear up furiously for the upcoming school year with the anticipation of heavy September website traffic. Comrade of the month and the whole summer season is mousnonya@yahoo.com. Mousnonya took us to new heights with French translations, javascripts, hyperlinking and some German. Unfortunately, in the year 2001, we saw three web page workers quit their work. This has meant that I the Web Minister have taken a firmer hand in the actual organization and implementation of the web page. We continue to have local branches of RAIL put up their work and we have an overall agitation page effort by the RAIL liaison. The rest of the work done on the web pages has been by myself and Mousnonya. Hopefully that will change and I will return to other duties.

The bookstore aspect of the web page is under construction. Compared with August of 2000, in August of 2001, there were 97% more visitors going from MIM's web page to Amazon. However, the visits from the people testing the web page are counted in the traffic as well as visits from the merely curious. We won't know how much effectiveness our bookstore really has until it is finished in development.

The August numbers are generally down from even the low levels of June and July. Numbers for theory articles, non-English languages, new MNs and new areas of the web page were stable or increased. This month the "agitation" page debuted. This may have confused some people. We remind all web page developers not to take down work that others may have seen except to improve the file and put it up again. Old index pages should be left up if they had different names than the new ones and if there is any chance that a search engine or web page author hyperlinked it.
