This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Central Committee Cancels MIM Congress

2005 was another record year for promoting MIM's first three cardinal principles. However, with regard to the fourth cardinal principle, there was a serious setback akin to that of the anarchist wind more than a decade ago. Some people sabotaged the Party Congress by releasing its contents before the Congress itself discussed it and subsequently there was also leakage of non-public information. This runs counter to all previous practice of Marxism-Leninism- Maoism.

In the principle of democratic-centralism, we in the party discuss together internally and we go to the world with a united face. The public is not entitled to know the internal struggle of the party unless the party decides to make it public for instructional purposes. The theory behind this is that the proletariat does not win one-on-one fights and has the disadvantage relative to the bourgeoisie of having to unite on concrete demands in order to win. Exposing internal politics of the party enables the bourgeoisie to better refine its strategy of bribery and coercion to accomplish what it wants. At the very least it makes it possible to start an unprincipled struggle of persynalities in public, with this or that persynality supposedly for one line and another for another. This is the sure road to Liberalism.

In addition to the leaks from the Congress, we've also faced the activity of state agents and ex-MIM degenerates, with some state agents posing as ex-MIM or ex-MIM circles. Because of a number of setbacks in this regard that we must acknowledge, MIM's etext.org based organization will not be holding a Congress in 2006. To hold the Congress would in fact be a delusional act, one failing to call a spade a spade. By not holding the Congress, we hope to focus people's attention on the setback in the struggle and the requirements necessary to secure Marxist-Leninist-Maoist organizations and go forward in a united fight.

The original MIM cell at etext.org has already announced its activities and in not holding congresses till a more advantageous moment, we will simply continue on our course of promoting the first three cardinal principles. As part of an historical resolution we already passed we may further explain and document certain internal line struggles of MIM in the past. That should in no way be taken to mean that M-L-M parties should hold their congresses in the open. Rather it is a case where the party has chosen to make instructional use of its own history. In the case of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union under Stalin, there was no party Congress through World War II and beyond and still that party racked up some great achievements. Likewise today, MIM finds itself in a position where there the relationship between discussion and united action has become improperly twisted. Until we have put ourselves in better shape on the fourth cardinal, we will not be holding a Congress.

[mim3@mim.org adds: The reason this is new is that MIM ordinarily holds a congress every year. When Congress is not in session the full members of the Central Committee are in charge.]
