This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Resolution Re-Wording Policy against Sleeping with Recruits

No matter what, lower and higher level members will have to agree not to get involved romantically with RCs, MSGs, or recruitable circles or any person that has broken with the Party and refuses to struggle, yet looks to discredit the Party. The Party can dictate to the comrade conditions with specific people. We are not date counselors, but want to minimize external damage. This is possible in the same sense that the bourgeois professional world knows one shouldn't sleep with one's clients. In our case, the masses are wrong to demand that we not sleep with people, but the point is that our recruits are pre-scientific anyway and not yet able to judge the relative importance of lifestyle and cardinal questions. That is in addition to usual romance culture irrationality.

MCs who do get involved with RCs, MSGs or recruitable circles will inform the party and surrender their vote. They will also inform their partner in each case that they do not represent the party.

For the purposes of interpreting the resolutions of the late August 1996 mini-congress, "recruitable circles" are people who have shown some political activity on anti-militarism or anti-imperialism or perhaps some other group-related oppression.
