Rekindling the fire in MI

Revolutionary Greetings! Revolutionary Love!

One can grow and develop in any situation. Life did not end in my imprisonment, but instead, began. I've tried to model my confinement on the transformation of Malcolm X and George Jackson,(4) while rekindling the fire and furor of the drive that compelled Gabriel Prosser, Marcus Garvey,(1) Denmark Vesey, Toussaint L'Ouverture, Henri Christophe,(2) Che Guevara,(3,4) Patrice Lumumba, Jose Marti,(3) Geronimo Pratt, Assata Shakur,(5) and Mumia Abu Jamal.

Prisoners can neither ignore nor reject our obligations to continue the struggle of the above, as beneficiaries of their legacy. We may be relegated to the role of teaching. But resistance to neo-colonialist, imperialist oppression occurs on many levels.

I say to all prisoners: it should be an honor to assist in this great battle to end all forms of greed, racism, oppression and exploitation. As long as people are victimized, brutalized and lynched in any way, I remain,
