Foundations of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and the FBI Counterintelligence Program's (COINTELPRO) work to destroy the BPP and divide it from other nationalist organizations. Information on COINTELPRO is given as the framework within which BPP member Geronimo Pratt was framed on a murder charge, convicted and sent to prison. Pratt was recently released after 27 years of wrongful imprisonment and being denied parole 16 times.

Slavery and Brutality in Michigan Prisons
Presentation by anti-prisons activist followed by discussion
Thursday October 9, 7:10 p.m. Room B108, Modern Languages Building (corner of Washington and Thayer)
Details of the use of forced labor to profit Michigan State Industries (MSI) -- the Michigan Department of Corrections' manufacturing company. MSI production is backed by brutality in the prisons and the overwhelmingly disproportionate imprisonment of Blacks in Michigan.

Palante, Siempre Palante: The Story of the Young Lords Party

History of the Young Lords Party/Puerto Rican Revolutionary Workers Organization which fought for self-determination of the Puerto Rican nation.
