I am proud of who I am, and of my Jamaican roots on my father's side. Yet I am not allowed to let others see how proud I am.
In October I was run off the compound (general population) by members of a Nazi and Aryan gang. They did not stab me or beat me down. They did not drag me to staff saying I had to go. They did not even face me. They sent written statements to the officers saying because I am not white and will not give them the time of day, my life is in danger.
This prison has a history of racial violence. This violence has even gone from staff towards inmates. And though most of the compound is African, gangs like the Aryan Circle, Aryan Brotherhood and SAC run the yard. Three brothers who went to the officers to ask for me to come to the compound found themselves place in SHU for no reason! This is government-sponsored racism.
Since I've been on SHU myself I've had to fight with two different cellies who were racists. I've had others give me "White Pride"/"White Power" publications. They are allowed to make their collective positions known, while I cannot even talk about our history without being written up. This is government-sponsored racism.
We are at war with Amerikkka, and we are losing. Why? Because we lie down and let them lick us. Look at what Bush did not do before, during and after the hurricanes wiped out whole neighborhoods.
Amerikkka is trying to systematically wipe us out. Look at how many of us are in prison.
-- a Federal prisoner in Colorado, 19 January 2006
MIM responds: The same prisoncrats who censor the MIM press for "racism" while allowing fascist propaganda allow fascist gangs the run of their facilities while segregating the Black prisoners threatened by those gangs. By this illogic, pointing out the wildly disproportionate imprisonment of Blacks in Amerika is akin to advocating it! What's more, the Liberal milquetoasts who just want us all to get along and not make such a big deal about oppression are busy clearing the town square for the big Nazi rally. The Liberals invented the whole idea that talking about oppression is a crime greater than perpetuating it, handing the prisoncrats one of their favorite excuses for censorship.
