This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

MIM Supporters Group (MSG)

MSG is an organization of committed people that works with MIM. MIM recognizes MSG chapters or members in certain situations where there are thorough differences of opinion that would prevent such a member from being a RAIL, PIRAO or party member. Despite worked out differences with the party, MSG members have their own reasons why they work with MIM and not revisionist or openly bourgeois parties.

Typical MSG people are experienced with study of communism. They are often intellectuals or veteran comrades with a background in movements.

While RAIL and PIRAO are good places for those with budding interests in Maoism, MSG is a good place for people who are known political quantities relatively speaking.

The 1999 Congress Session I clarified the status of MSG by clarifying party membership rules. MSG is not a stepping stone toward party membership and it does not contain probationary kinds of MIM members. In contrast, RAIL will contain people who run the whole gamut from political beginner to persyn ready to join the party and be a Central Committee leader. RAIL people follow MIM leadership whereas MSG people don't at least in one recognizable area.

An example of where MSG membership would be appropriate would be the case of someone who disagrees on the need for democratic centralism or who strongly disapproves of a certain other MIM line or leader. Despite differences of cardinal principle, MSG people believe they should be in the MIM orbit and not somewhere else in the political spectrum.

MSG is not a place for the inert or wishy-washy. MIM does not have any organizations for such people. MSG people may be as active and self-sacrificing as Central Committee members, just with a different twist.
