The liberal media assault on Iran and Islam continued non-stop despite the coming elections November 7. At the end of October, the New York Press ran a newspaper called "The Sex Issue" with a naked womyn posing in the subway--this a paper distributed free on the streets of New York City. Inside were war-mongering barbs on Islam.(1) In case anyone did not notice, Democrats like their lives with both sex and violence, just like Hollywood movies.
Meanwhile, at the very same time, ironically other press liberals referring to a subway rape had the gall to claim that imperialist womyn without the veil is not "a piece of meat." In Australia, an Islamic leader named Taj el-Din al Hilaly made the same old claim that Muslims have always made, that they have a way out of making wimmin into sex objects--the veil.(2)
MIM is still uncertain what the man even said, because press reports varied from talking about dogs to cats to other things. Here is the most substantial quote we found:
"'If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it ... whose fault is it? The cats’ or the uncovered meat?' he asked. 'The uncovered meat is the problem.'"(3)Even this quote does not use the word "rape." Being "treated like meat" is not the same thing as rape necessarily; although people should consider whether they are shades of the same thing. Many, perhaps most Muslim wimmin believe that Western womyn is a soul-less piece of meat, as judged by her clothing and preferred television shows. MIM has a different explanation, but there is no doubt that there can be a big gap to explain somehow.
We found over 800 articles bashing the Muslim leader in Au$tralia, most with a select few words quoted from him, usually just "piece of meat." The speech was in Arabic, so we have many doubts about the alleged translations. The most rabid article we found that actually quoted the man on rape showed an alleged quote from another portion of the speech where he was clearly talking about date rape.(4) Nonetheless, the Au$tralian media construed it only in defense of gang rape of a womyn on the subway.
"The only incitement committed by 18-year-old Ms C, who was raped 25 times by up to 14 men including Skaf in 2000, was being Australian. Sitting on a train, dressed for a job interview in her best suit, and reading The Great Gatsby, she was a slut, an 'Aussie pig' as they called her later."(4)That's not to mention that according to the man himself, Taj el-Din al Hilaly, there was not a single reference to rape in the whole speech.
Here is the real truth of the matter in Au$tralia. Some Muslims have been convicted in Au$tralia for a gang rape of a womyn in a subway. Now forever more, whenever Islam and gender comes up in Au$tralia, we have to see how Islam justifies this gang rape, so says the war-mongering media. Then "good" Muslims more pro-Western in outlook have to pipe up.
Too bad it does not work that way for all the religions. If there is rape, trace the rapists to a religion. Then whenever preachers from the religion open their mouth, remind them of the rape. So MIM can see that this is all really about war-mongering, preparing Au$tralian public opinion against Islam.
MIM has grown up in this culture typified by the New York Press cover. Though absorbed in this culture, MIM still sees tough questions facing the Western culture. For example, even many Muslims thought the speech was too "provocative" and offended foreign sensibilities. Yet at the same time, to paraphrase, "whose fault is it? The preachers frustrated by the gap and using provocative language or the warmongering dogs attacking 'Islamo-fascism'?" We share the preacher's tactical sensibility that this gap must be pierced not smoothed over. It is wrong to talk about smoothing over problems when there is war going on.
The preacher said he would resign after the White House has been cleansed from the earth.(5) That sounds right to MIM. If he did speak provocatively, what is that compared with actual killing being done in the name of gender equality in Afghanistan and Iraq. His language is nothing compared with the fact of U.$. Army pornography being distributed in Iraq.
Many Muslims still use the old-fashioned word "fornication." Still dense and irrational Liberals of today cannot imagine for a minute that there might be a different way of attacking the rape problem than what they imagine--putting naked wimmin on newspaper covers for example.
Lately, as MIM uncovered in the press leading up to International Wimmin's Day March 8, there is a White House coordinated assault linking Islam to rape. The same linkage occurred in Au$tralia and the West generally where the media quoted two, three or four words without even the word "rape" and said the meaning was that not wearing a veil invited rape.
In all these claims made by the Liberals in the West, in all their fantasies about rape, they never provide any proof that the rape problem is worse in Islamic countries. What if the truth is that repressive clothing decreases all sexual contact including rape? Is there really any proof offered that it is not true? Not. Is it rational for Muslims to wonder if more repressive clothing decreases sexual contact including rape? Yes. Is it irrational to attack Muslims without evidence? Yes. Did these people even check if Muslims use the same definition of rape? Not.
All we heard from the Liberal press was that it is the responsibility of individuals not to rape. We did not hear anything more than that Liberal bromide. We heard no evidence that such an approach is better than manipulating people not to rape. MIM is for the dictatorship of the proletariat. We believe there is a way and more than one, to manipulate people into not raping. Currently people are being manipulated into raping, but it's called "freedom." By the way, communists who cannot distinguish themselves from what the Au$tralian press is saying are sexual Liberals, choke artists.
The objective of slamming Islam on rape at this time is war and more war--as is obvious but denied by even the most far-out of the left-wing of white nationalism. Former New York mayor Ed Koch chimed in right in tune with the neo-conservative war offensive in the same pornographic New York Press issue with the naked womyn on the cover.
Nevertheless, there are many in the Western world who believe that the United States and its coalition partners should withdraw from Iraq and that such capitulation will somehow end Islamist terror or at least seriously reduce its intensity in the world outside the Middle East. Can we or should we abandon the Middle East? Should we leave our allies, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia to the tender mercies of Islamic terrorists? There were many before World War II who would have left the Jews, England, France and Russia to fend for themselves in the face of the annihilation sought by Hitler and his Nazi armies. There are those in every Western democracy who are losing their resolve to standup to the Islamic terrorists. U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) deplores the use of the term “Islamic fascists,” sometimes used by the White House.(1)
Meanwhile, the Boston Phoenix the same week is saying the Iraq War is only wrong because Bush should have attacked Korea instead.
Make no mistake: Kim is the villain, but Bush is his enabler, his provocateur, his unwitting inspiration. By diplomatically isolating the United States from working and effective relationships with other nations as a result of his foolish Iraq war, Bush has emboldened Kim. It was a gross miscalculation, born of the arrogant belief that America alone can police the world.(6) These same Boston Phoenix people call Stalin defenders "jejune," while defending fake Maoist organizations in the area. The Boston Phoenix also just lost its editor to a similar publication opposing "Islamo-fascism," the Village Voice/LA Weekly.(7)
So when the Boston Phoenix says "underground," it is talking about underground sex, drugs and connections to the war machine. Born-again Christians have their way of going to war and now liberals are being called to war for their values as well.
MIM is not for the veil or the New York Press style of pornography. Nonetheless, we know war-mongering irrationality when we see it. The blame for that falls on New York Press style patriarchy at this moment, not the Islamic kind of patriarchy. Perhaps Amerikans are mostly comfortable with seeing wimmin naked in the subway, but even if so, they should try to imagine people who are fighting real sexual oppression, like the people of the Islamic countries faced with the inroads of Western-style sex slavery and pornography. For every one million females comfortable enough to be the womyn standing in that subway photo, there would be at least five million females who would not be.
If gender conditions in Islamic countries are worse than in the West, the reason is that the West robs the Islamic countries of resources and labor. If economic conditions were better in the Islamic countries, the people there would see more eye-to-eye with better-off Westerners. Instead, the Islamic peoples fight desperately against gender oppression.
In Au$tralia, students demonstrated against Taj el-Din al Hilaly's comment. One association called itself a Muslim group, but said it was for "choice" and wearing the veil or not wearing the veil.(8) Thus some people from Muslim cultures in Au$tralia are comfortable with the Western ways, and they falsely link the veil to the economic backwardness of Islamic countries. The veil and the Western lifestyle are not the cause of the problems of Islamic countries. It's the other way around. The economic exploitation of Islamic and other Third World peoples leads to insecure sexual situations. Students in Au$tralia should seek out the real underlying causes of economic problems, because just changing lifestyle, just watching more "Sex in the City" re-runs is not going to do the trick.
MIM has tracked down a number of stories about Iran and wimmin. The most glaring have turned out false or unrepresentative. Even MIM would not have guessed that most students in Iranian colleges are now wimmin,(9) a change that occurred under the Islamic regime, not the pro-West Shah of Iran. 70% of the graduates of Azad University in applied physics are wimmin.(9)
For two decades MIM has fought for a much different kind of feminism than what we see in the West. Most of the so-called communists and their Liberal allies scoffed, because they were sucked in deep into their own oppressor culture--typified by the export of pornography and Lynndie England. At this moment when the sexual Liberals are for fighting "Islamo-fascism," there is a huge silence from the left-wing of white nationalism that sometimes vacillates against imperialist wars. Now today we see that there is an absolute need for a non-Liberal feminism to complement the anti-war movement. It's not just that the anti-war movement is more important than what the Sydney Morning Herald or Daily Telegraph have to say about the veil. It's also that what the New York Press, Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph have to say about the veil is insubstantial, ineffective and pseudo-feminist.
