[mim3@mim.org comments: In 1992, the party passed a number of resolutions laying down the skeleton of a scientific analysis of many questions. Most of the 1992 resolutions were in reference to articles that MIM was going to publish in MIM Notes or MIM Theory or as leaflets or posters. Here we include those resolutions that were simpler. Of course, many have since been overturned by party votes. In some places the word Congress has been substituted for Conference just as a matter of consistency. "Conference" used to be the word for "Congress."]
1. MIM recognizes the existence of a Black nation/colony inside the borders of the United States.
2. MIM recognizes the existence of a Black national bourgeoisie inside the nation/colony, whose group interest is of a dual nature, i.e. while restricted as capitalists by monopoly-capitalism they are potential allies of the revolutionary proletariat. However, they as capitalists, are also potential class enemies.
3. MIM recognizes the existence of a proletariat inside the Black nation/colony. [mim3@mim.org replies: MIM has passed a much more elaborate document on this subject since then.]
4. MIM recognizes the existence of a labor-aristocracy inside the Black nation/colony.
5. MIM recognizes the existence of a Black petty-bourgeoisie inside the Black nation/colony.
6. In all documents using the term 'asexuality' to describe abstinence from sexual intercourse, MIM will now substitute celibacy.
7. MIM recognizes that the Black nation/colony is currently under the direct military, political, and economic rule of Amerikan imperialism, which oppresses and exploits the Black proletariat.
8. When taking a public position, MIM will critically support progressive tendencies in the concrete motion, i.e. (not just stated goals by bourgeois leadership of factions of these movements), of mass-based reform movements in North Amerika and internationally. "Critical support" is not necessary meant to imply endorsement of specific demands and political platforms of these movements; although such is not precluded. "Critical support" is meant to imply unity with the necessity of the masses, as groups, classes, strata, to extract reforms from the bourgeois state and related institutions; as well as to oppose the economic undermining of previously achieved group positions in bourgeois-dominated society. "Critical support" recognizes that revolutions evolve from such movements, under certain conditions, and that the duty of revolutionary communists is to help raise the consciousness of spontaneously reformist groups and strata to a level of class/group/national consciousness and unity built upon the recognition of the common enemy of all humanity: the monopoly-capitalist groups and their retainers and agents.
MIM will not withhold solicited, or unsolicited, "critical support" from these movements unless they are, principally, reactionary. "National consciousness" applies only to oppressed nations and not to oppressor nations.
[mim3@mim.org comments: Later in the year, MIM changed its position. See point 24 below.]
9. MIM critically supports the mass movements of gay and lesbian people, everywhere on the planet Earth, to obtain the legal, and actual, bourgeois right to a civil and social status unrestricted by exclusionary civil and social codes and practices.
10. First World women as a group are overall more power than Third World women as a group.
11. In heterosexual relationships men overall are more powerful than women.
12. We will continue to ban criticism of the RCP-USA in public. [mim3@mim.org replies: MIM has since published numerous articles criticizing RCP-USA revisionism, but the general line in the 1990s was that the RCP-USA is not the object of criticism in agitational work, only theory reviews.]
13. MIM Notes should have a police brutality page.
14. Organize the masses to criticize state-backed, white-supremacist pseudo-feminist organizations. Treat them as enemy.
15. MIM will present an internal debate within the party on gender as a production relation versus gender as sexual hierarchy.
16. MIM Theory will present an internal debate on Anita Hill based on excerpts from Congress which will be voted on if this concept is approved.
17. Distribute Stevenson's Monopoly Capital and Inequalities in Swedish Society.
18. Distribute Redstockings book Feminist Revolution.
19. Struggle with and recruit volunteers from inside state pseudo-feminist organizations.
20. MIM Theory is the official party line. MC5 is the editor. Copy for MIM Theory is approved in the conference. Documents with a majority vote appear in print, except where MC5 gains approval to air interparty debate. [mim3@mim.org replies: The above explained how a lot of resolutions passed were going to be implemented. It was recorded April 21, 1992.]
21. MIM might enter into temporary tactical alliances with religious movements that truly target imperialism as the main enemy, but shall not enter into strategic alliances with them or lend these movements support unless they are objectively advancing revolutionary communism.
22. MIM comrades uphold atheism over all religions as the most advanced philosophy in revolutionary theory and practice.
23. Comrades will always ask for money for the paper in a branch city.
24. MIM doesn't "critically support" anything. MIM upholds Lenin's edict to support every outbreak against imperialism. As part of our working alliances with the mass movements, we sometimes support groups or actions with which we do not agree. [Passed 100%]
25. Comrades may not resign from jobs unless a replacement is duly elected by the Party to the position or appointed by the Central Committee. Of course, comrades may be fired from jobs by a majority vote of either the Central Committee or the whole Party at anytime.
[mim3@mim.org comments: There were a number of resolutions about lines of accountability in the party, positions and structure. The above resolution is a general ideological stance.]
26. MIM will no longer use the term "house slave" or "house negro" to mean "sell-out Uncle Tom Black people."
27. MIM Notes will not be cut in size nor any issues cancelled. If the monies to print MIM Notes are unavailable they will be diverted from other projects and fundraising efforts will be undertaken by the party to replace the monies for the damaged projects.
28. Never cut MIM Notes below 12 pages a month.
29. MIM Notes will not be sacrificed to generate money for any other party project. It will continue as a monthly 12 page paper at current circulation (which may be redistributed as finances dictate). Money for other party projects will be generated by those projects or from other sources including MIM Notes income above what is needed to pay for the paper if the party decides not to use this money to increase the size or frequency of the paper.
30. MIM will refer to "Marxism-Leninism-Maoism" to refer to its ideology rather than Marxism-Leninism Mao Zedong Thought.
