On July 6, a federal appeals court dismissed the lawsuit of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on secret spying. The court ruled the ACLU was not claiming to be spied on and so could not sue.(1)
It's an interesting point, because someone being secretly spied on is not supposed to know enough to sue. So everyone could be spied on secretly without having standing in court. That effectively means there are no civil liberties. No one could come up with a public interest that could be party to a suit.
To the monarchist judges who came up with that, MIM knew about you. Hey, that's why we say to the Amerikan public, they're telling you to do something worth spying on and then sue. That's how they think. It works best if imperialists themselves do something to get spied on, because they can cause the most ruckus.
Of course, the politicians are supposed to prevent the question from going to court in the first place. Let's not kid ourselves though. The FISA court is a rubber-stamp kangaroo court. It's not just Bush.
The best way to fight this kind of thing is to wade right into the water. Yes, there are more of them than you, but it's only rich countries like the united $tates that spend all their time spying. Doing our part here actually frees up people in other countries. Without wading in for experience, the liberals and libertarians sound vacuous.
MIM has contacted the ACLU on many occasions in the past to no use. Its partner in one city even arranged to get a bench warrant issued against MIM. Things have to get pretty wild before the ACLU types can figure out what is going on.
