High school students walk out in Washington state to commemorate 2004 election:

Demonstrators ask Bu$h to step down

SEATTLE, WA--On November 2nd, 700 copies of MIM Notes #327 went out in demonstrations to "drive out the Bush regime." At the demonstrations, placards, posters and flyers appeared that said the problem is not just Bush but the system of imperialism.

Several hundred high school students had walked out of school that day to join each of two nearly converging demonstrations led by two separate organizations. Combined the rallies probably exceeded a thousand people. Marches through the streets went on into the early evening.

The Seattle Post Intelligencer credited the latter rally as the bulk and put the "roar" of high school students on the front page as their lead story the next day. Posters advertising the first rally in San Francisco and Seattle did not list a name of an organization calling for the Bush regime to be ousted.

A speaker at the first rally asked for Bush to "step down" and "take his program with him." Other speakers at the two rallies told of their high schools and their tribulations as military recruits.

MIM collected up the flyers from the demonstrations for further study and discussion and we hope to make them available on our website with our comments soon. At the scene, a few different organizations set up tables to hand out literature. Posters on the stage of the speakers initially emphasized that this government wants to take away the right to abortion and birth control. Later in the rally someone took them down.
