The difference between "service" and truth:
So now the 15 British troops released by Iran for Easter have a different story to tell. They sold the story of their ordeal of capture at sea as pirates. Individual stories may be worth $500,000. Faye Turney has received $197,000 already and another soldier, $137,000.
When these troops were in Iran, they all admitted to trespassing. So the question arises of when they were lying, when they served England or when they obtained nice new suits from Iran.
Of course a "lie" has to be intentional. So perhaps the real point is that service and truth do not mix. The 15 troops were serving England when they had a job with them and when they were having their meals and clothes furnished by Iran, they served equally well then. What is this about lies and truth. They are just servants. That's why they call it "armed services."
Bribes for sensational stories that Brits would eat up do not come out of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) budget.

It's nice to see the Bloomberg business news wire service step in and expand to compete with Reuters and AP in telling the imperialist point of view. The whole world has been insufficiently deluged with the opinions of a certain senator from Connecticut.
At first glance, there is nothing new. We have to wonder what Bloomberg was accomplishing:
"Senator Joseph Lieberman, a Connecticut independent who supports the administration's strategy, said 'it would be a disaster not to try to win' in Iraq.If it were not for business competition we would not have Lieberman's CNN interview re-broadcast by so many different "sources." Thank God we have superior Amerikan pluralism, unlike those one-party states where there is only one sanctioned media. If Senator Lieberman ever opens his mouth, we surely want at least four different sources to report that same thing that he has been saying for many years."'If we lose it, this will become a base for al-Qaeda,' Lieberman, 65, said on the CNN program." (1)
On second thought, the profound message Bloomberg is adding in is that the United $tates is a bold country. The same report points out that 57% of Amerikans now support a March, 2008 deadline to withdraw from Iraq.
So let's see. Joseph Lieberman is saying that the united $tates was so bold as to fight a war where losing would mean that Iraq would become a giant Al-Qaeda base.
Now the Pentagon inspector general also reported by Bloomberg says that the link between Al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein was cooked up.(2) Prince Cheney is sticking to his guns on this point. MIM would add that it's quite odd that Bloomberg would dispute Prince Cheney in that the link between Al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein is obvious: the united $tates funded and armed both of them.
Maybe what they are trying to say is that once the united $tates failed to obtain an oil pipeline deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan, then at that time, Amerikans could be jealous that Saddam Hussein had almost as much a tie to Al-Qaeda as the united $tates. That's when Prince Cheney points to contested evidence that Iraq had a diplomatic meeting with some Al-Qaeda people--unlike the united $tates which of course never armed, funded or met with Al-Qaeda.
Actually, Al-Qaeda emerged whole and truly evil from an immaculate birth from the Devil and various U.$. agencies that met with it and the Taliban even after 911 were simply infiltrated by Satan working in guises. The united $tates was about to go to war with the minions of Satan that had infiltrated the U.S. Government when Democrats got in the way. All that remained, the only avenue left for attacking those who hold meetings with Al-Qaeda was for 150,000 troops to land in Iraq and give Halliburton billions for contracts.
