This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. Prime Minister: Maoist People's War number one threat in India

See our India page

Maoist People's War is bubbling up all over India. The prime minister of India is now saying the Maoists are the leading security threat to India.

As a result of activities, in one province of India called Chhattisgarh, the "organisations - the Communist Party of India-Maoist, Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Mazdoor Sangh, Krantikari Adivasi Mahila Sangh, Krantikari Adivasi Balak Sangh, Krantikari Kisan Committee and Mahila Mukti Manch - were outlawed under the Special Public Security Act of 2005, an official statement said."(1)

Chhattisgarh is the tenth most populated state in India. We have no idea what other organizations have already been banned or even if all of the six mentioned above are real.

The merger of Naxalite groups, including the People's War Group and the Maoist Communist Centre, has created the powerful Communist Party of India (Maoist), whose guerrillas now operate in 170 districts in 14 states across the country,(2)

says the mainstream bourgeois Times of India.

There are literally thousands of Google news articles about People's War in India. As of this date, that includes 21 articles about a faction we disagree with, the CPI(ML) Liberation and 77 more articles that could refer to the pro-Lin Biao Communist Party of India(Marxist-Leninist).

We point this out in case anyone thinks that assessing what is going on in India is easy. In the case of the Liberation group we can say we don't agree with their interpretation of Maoism. With the case of Nepal's Masal group, their line is quite similar to ours, but they do not carry out People's War and they don't dispute that. In such a case, we can make a decision that we do not support that organization, but many other organizations involve many other questions that MIM is not able to judge. We support the organizations upholding Marxism-Leninism-Maoism including the Cultural Revolution and prepare themselves to wage the struggle against the bourgeoisie in the party under socialism.
