This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. Maoist Internationalist Movement

1991 MIM Congress

Assorted resolutions

[mim3@mim.org comments: In 1991, the party passed a number of resolutions laying down the skeleton of a scientific analysis of many questions. Most of the 1991 resolutions were in reference to articles that MIM was going to publish in MIM Notes or MIM Theory or as leaflets or posters. Here we include those resolutions that were simpler. Of course, many have since been overturned by party votes. In some places the word Congress has been substituted for Conference just as a matter of consistency. "Conference" used to be the word for "Congress."]

1. Women who are not exploited do not face a life-death/survival relationship with men in their sexual and employment relations.

2. People will not accuse each other of harassment for things said in this conference. Discrimination in the conference must be noted within a week.

3. Class is based in production relations.

4. The primary contradiction is in production relations, not family relations.

5. There are three strands of oppression--gender, nation and class.

6. The principal contradiction in the world is between oppressed nations and oppressor nations.

7. The principal contradiction inside the U$A is nation.

8. Age is the principal contradiction within the white nation of the U$A.

9. Those with more than 40 hours a week to give to the party will participate in the conference at least once a week.

[mim3@mim.org comments: This refers to the fact that once MIM started having voting congresses, those congresses were permanently in session. From its foundation till 1989, the party operated through verbal consensus operation. Then it took up a more formal voting procedure and finally in 1993 the party threw aside its history of being in permanent Congress and went to having Congress session only twice a year.]

10. Wages for amerikan workers should be put on a par with the international standard for the world proletariat.
