California prisoner requests exchange with Nevada prisoner

I would like to express my appreciation to MIM for taking time to get a clear understanding of the nature of this prison game and for shedding revolutionary light from the outside in. My last letter to you expressed the fact that I am sitting in Ad Seg here at California State Prison, New Folsom for housing/psychological reasons: basically trying to work out a single cell situation in order that I might side step the kats who aint' tryin to accomplish shit for themselves nor the inmate population at large and who keep a healthy helping of bullshit on their plates.

As we should all recognize, the tactic of "divide and conquer" with the end result of "out of sight, out of mind" is a first principle maneuver of war strategist dating back to Sun Tzu. And these prison administrators and political power brokers across the U.$. are dead set on keeping us politically conscious prisoners separated from our family and loved ones on the opposite side of this concrete curtain, whether that be via distances too far to travel for visits, censorship of in-coming and out-going mail, or telephone bills too high to pay because of the monopolization of long distance carriers such as MCI.

Here's my situation, which is probably not unlike many other comrades throughout the states. I'm trying to get transferred to a Nevada State Prison, not because I think the grass is greener in Nevada but simply to be close to where my family is. A quick run through the letters posted in the "Under Lock and Key" section ought to tell any comrade with basic common sense that the prison grass ain't getting no greener in none of these state penitentiaries.

Anyway, the states, at least many of them have an agreement called the 'Interstate Compact Placement Agreement" which basically allows for a swap of prisoners between two states on a voluntary basis (see CA Title 15 sec 3379 on transfers). The thing is the directors of the prison must approve it which means jumping through the hoops of the prison appeals process, classification committees and the general bullshit all along the way, such as, if you owe restitution to the state be prepared to be shot down on a technicality.

In short, I need to holler at a comrade in Nevada who is hip to the process and may be trying to get to a California prison for whatever reason so we can collaborate on a strategy to get all our ducks lined up. [Write to MIM to be hooked up with this prisoner.]
