This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Maoist Internationalist Movement

Note from the Chair

June 12 2007

MIM has never agreed with IRTR on organizational questions, including the possibility of holding such a forum. The fact that the discussion there historically and theoretically speaking can be distinguished from organizational questions does not mean all line is a question of history and theory. There is a line on organization and provocations as well, so to say what MIM is talking about is not a line question is Liberal in the extreme. We are not now arguing over whether IRTR has seen that. We do not dispute that there has been a crackdown at IRTR. For that matter the federal government has changed its procedure in recent struggles. Nonetheless, anyone who thinks that it is possible to hold such a forum without taking account what history and theory may be serving as a cover for obviously does not understand the first lesson on what revisionism is. There is such a thing as a line on security and counting it as not part of line is not Maoism.

In the current lopsided struggle between spies and Maoists in the imperialist countries, it is rather easy for the spies to outnumber us in a discussion forum. This means that even when a good discussion appears to be going on, it is possible for the spies to issue all sort of provocations, both on-line and with regard to off-line life. MIM has held this point consistently.

There is currently no way out of the problem built into the numbers of the situation, and the fact that the enemy is paid to be full-time. Our most effective tactics as MIM has said before mean doing our own work and getting it out there, not watered down. Contrary to the labor aristocracy line, it is not possible to just talk our way to liberation. As it is, we just talk our way to our own further repression, bullshit about "freedom," notwithstanding. That is also a question of line.

On the question of Mousnonya, again, we have to go chronologically. Mousnonya was no problem while working with the Web Minister or the RMP. Mousnonya's real role only came out with the IRTR and its aftermath.

IRTR and MIM may seem to be doing the same along these lines at this point, as IRTR has cut its discussion way back, but there is still the question on how to handle the error of having had a discussion forum in which the enemy was underestimated tactically and strategically.
