As an indigent prisoner, I would very much like to receive a free subscription to your newspaper. I cannot help but be concerned about what our elected officials are doing to the people of other sovereign nations and the effect that these actions are having on the average citizen of this country. Without access to the truth, the problems may not be correctable from within. I would like for every U.S. citizen to know how many innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan have been killed since the U.S. invaded those countries. A civilized society could not being to ignore this. Thank you.

MIM responds: In Iraq alone, the u.$. has spearheaded killings of more than two million people. This includes deaths during the 1991 Gulf War, the 10+ years of sanctions and bombings that followed, and the current war. This does not count the u.$. record of killing or providing ammunition to kill people in Afghanistan, Palestine, Lebanon or elsewhere in the world. Yet prison officials like to censor MIM Notes for supposed incitement of violence, just for pointing all of this out! This is no civilized society, when pointing to the causes of violence is a worse offense than killing two million people.
