This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Mark it on your calendar!

April 16th demonstrations: "Prosecute Civil Rights Violators! Defend Ward Churchill!"

Three locations pledge demonstrations for Ward Churchill. Hours and places to be announced soon. Pledge your location too. Boston, Indianapolis and Bay Area so far.

How to do it:

1. Pick a time and place and mail it in to mim3@mim.org to update here.
2. Inform your local newspapers and radio stations. Some have free calendars of "what to do" or "special events" they make available to the public.
3. Put up posters. See a sample one in this .pdf If you need help, you can ask mim3@mim.org to modify the sample for you or you can look to RAIL fliers for similar inspirations.
4. Once you have a poster, start circulating it and ask for endorsements and then revise your poster to include the endorsements. (Don't waste time with the worthless groups calling themselves any kind of "Marxist.")
5. The best way to distribute posters is by hand with petition and literature in hand. The best guarantee of demonstration attendance is word of mouth, interchange with petition-signers.
6. On the day of the demonstration have a little speech prepared. Get a photo of a poster or banner at the demonstration indicating resistance and then file a report on it here.

Urgent action with instructions

There are only a few more days left in the bureaucratic witch-hunt concerning Ward Churchill:
1. Make some xerox copies, say 50 or 100 of this Ward Churchill flyer and slice each page into three pieces.
2. Make a handful of copies of this petition for Ward Churchill.
3. Go to the nearest college campus or civil rights concerned organization and get signatures on the petition.
4. As people pass you by, yell out "Petition for Ward Churchill, professor being fired." If you can get it all said before people get by, say, "Petition for Ward Churchill, professor being fired for a speech." The key is to catch attention.
5. If someone says, "I dunno," give them a copy of the flyer so they can read more on the website.
6. If you know how to scan documents, send scans of your petitions to mim3@mim.org. Otherwise, just email mim3@mim.org with details of how many signatures you obtained and where. Time is short, so do not nitpick. Get something like this done.
