This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off. MIM(Prisons) serves these documents as a service to and reference for the anti-imperialist movement worldwide.

Retraction of University of Colorado errors buried:

Colorado entertainment media cover up for Ward Churchill witchhunt

On April 7, MIM reported that the University of Colorado's bureaucratic committee that attacked Ward Churchill for "research misconduct" incorrectly attacked Ward Churchill on smallpox among New England natives.(1) On April 12, a University of Colorado administration outlet called "Silver and Gold" printed an acknowledgement from the bureaucratic leader and prosecutor Mimi Wesson that she was wrong; albeit from misreading different sources than MIM pointed to and in response to a First Nations expert professor Eric Cheyfitz.(2) It took the Rocky Mountain News till May 18th to report the admission of error by Mimi Wesson.(3) That was 10 days after the University of Colorado president had started his final decision-making process, also ten days after which the University of Colorado could have attempted firing Churchill. Likewise, on May 17, the other for-profit entertainment publication in the area, the "Denver Post" started a post-mortem on Ward Churchill before a decision from the president had been announced, but again had yet to mention Marianne Wesson's retraction.(4) You read about Wesson's errors in print at MIM first. We cannot help asking how many more "we told you so"s will be necessary for Churchill to win.

On a tangential note, the University of Colorado administration has justified its position on the American Council of Trustees and Alumni's role by saying ACTA is bi-partisan, since Senator Joe Lieberman co-founded it with Lynne Cheney.

"ACTA was founded by a bipartisan group that includes former National Endowment for the Humanities Chair Lynne Cheney, former Colorado Gov. Richard Lamm and U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman."
If we leave aside that MIM checked about 30 Google entries and did not find the Colorado-centric addition of Lamm anywhere else and instead found Lynne Cheney founding ACTA alone or with Lieberman-- that's another good joke, whereby something is political only if the two imperialist parties disagree. Where does that leave the Green Party, Libertarian Party etc. or even someone like Republican Ron Paul who opposes expanding the government because of 9/11. Ron Paul will not get to win the Republican nomination for president if the media and universities continue to converge with Halliburton, so there is even politics inside a party--obviously a tough concept for the University of Colorado administration. Or maybe, MIM should look at it the University of Colorado administration way: something is only political if it is funded by Halliburton. By that definition of "political" then the ACTA lackeys might be right. The FBI supporting the University of Colorado administration seems to operate with the same definition of "political," via the Hatch Act.

A Democrat far from MIM's line, Lyndon LaRouche has also attacked ACTA.(5) Sorry "Silver and Gold," but loser of the Connecticut Democratic primary and independent candidate Joe Lieberman is also an owner of Halliburton stock and a leading recipient of war industry lobbying money,(6) in case you still don't get the connection. What we have here is a bunch of people making the University of Colorado safe for military contractor profits and intelligence and repression agencies. Thanks for letting us underscore the point.

People who want to know what is going on keep their eyes on the MIM website. Sometimes it takes decades, as in the number of years it took for mainstream bourgeois media to document CIA and Trotskyist connections, but eventually the truth comes forward.
