Success Comes with Unity

We are all comrades in this lifelong fight
and the only chance we have is if we unite

Education is key so learn and teach
without frivolous barriers that limit your reach

Brothers without guidance show them the way
those with beautiful speech teach them what to say

We all have a role to play in this movement of life
against this imperialist government that don't give us no rights

Not everyone is expected to pick up no guns
but no one should neglect to give up no funds

Even if you can only afford to give up a one*
donate it because without money no war can be won

It's time to stop playing games with what we believe
and start implementing all the things that we read

We can obtain all the things that we need
all we have to do is Unite, Educate, Organize, and Succeed

Thoughts of a Civilized Savage

Think Outside the Box

They get mad at my thoughts
But how can they get mad at the way I think?
When they've placed me in this environment to do just this
To think about the choices
To think about the decisions
To think about the past
To think about the mistakes
To think about the consequences
To think about life
To think about death!
My thoughts seem too radical
They seem too harsh
They seem insensitive
But they don't seem fake
Because they are real
Because my reality is real
I think about the joy
I think about the happiness
I think about the love
I think about the pain
I think about the coldness
I think about the hurt
Because I was left alone to think.
Can't cry because it hurts too much
Can't laugh because it ain't funny
Can't talk because I don't trust nobody to listen
So what do I do?
The only thing I'm used to doing, think
Think about the future
Think about the plans
Think about revenge
Don't be mad because this is what you wanted
You wanted me to think
But it didn't turn out like you wanted
Because you created a smart, calculating righteous monster
And its all your fault
Because you didn't think
Of all the possibilities
That came with thinking!

Born from Different Mothers Reppin' Different Colors

LO Unity

They say that da left side is da true side
But I bang da right side with much pride
I don't knock your struggle, walk it like a real C
Blood or Crip, I respect the life that you live as a real G
I live in da struggle so I recognize da real from da fake
Dat Blood vs. Crip don't determine our fate
This kind of overstanding produces real niggas
who think like I thought...
A pointless war dat we all fought!
With fragments of unrelated feelings and no logical patterns
Trappin' in a concrete jungle dat preys
on da mind frames of young savages
I bleed Crip from my bloody heart
You Crip walk blood from a gangsters walk
Stuck in psychological confusion, created by poverty's conditions
Black pride and New Afrikan revolution destroyed from da impact
of pointless missions
I keep it poppin' for all niggas drippin' red and staying true
You keep it crackin' for all souljahs
Cripp'n Loc and bangin' blue
So stay true to yourself
cause you're a real nigga even though
you're reppin' dat strange color blue

Against Da Odds

Power 2 Da Proles

During the night of darkness, between da midst of a storm, there stood a warrior, thus a gangster in rare form. Black as soot, skin such a beautiful hue, he lived by da five, da almightly Damu. Constructed by struggles, created in poverty, da soul of realness with my komrades behind me. Standing firm for da cause, fighting through da oppression, 2 hearts, 1 soul. Liberation's my mission. Understand my position, don't judge me by my structure, comprehend my motives, it's filled with more than corruption. I live for my brothers and I'll die for my family, never slow to take a stand, for my love is my loyalty. To conquer all that's in my way, to rebuild my broken destiny, too far from reality, my ambition ran empty, such strength that's unbreakable. I'll fight to the end, I was born against da odds, da undisputed champion.

Hystory is On Our Side

United Front

I ask that you embrace
the tides of the times
We are no longer confined
with binds on the mind
Once we embrace
united front, scientific thought
and study for line
the long arm of imperialism's
law
is no longer strong
When through theory and practice
we arrive at the decision
to take up arms
which is a must
if we are to defeat
imperialism's parasitic
lust
with too much greed
for that which we don't need
We fail to heed
even the most basic of humyn
needs
As the Third World suffers
because of our greed
So turn the tides of the
times
Study for line
and overthrow imperialism...
Hystory is on our side.

To Pigism

Pigism

Pigism has no color
As we adjust they adapt
So we must remain abreast
by choosing
not-to-wait-to
have-to-react.

Pigs are Black! Wearing afros
or hats to the back
yelling KAPTIVES! hands
in the air! as they attack.
Attack! Attack!

Pigs are white
old "Raiders in the night"
Imperialist goons with guns (oink)
Blue and grey uniforms (oink)
forcing kaptives to LIE DOWN!
and conform conform conform.
Imperialism is pigism and has too easily become the
accepted norm.

Somebody Sound the Alarm
as we storm! Storm! Storm!
and tear down the norms
and no longer conform
to pigism

Back in the SHU II D.R.

Fuck Social Control

Grade A to the East Block from S.W.A.C.
Struggling with all my might
No official record of a 10 30
Nobody has flown a kite

I'm back in the SHU II D.R.
I'm talkin bout CDCR noise
Back in the SHU II D.R.

Been away so long they hardly knew my face
No parade or welcome home
Bought a good guitar could not afford clear-case
T.V. coming on state loan

[Chorus 2:]
I'm back in the SHU II D.R.
No sun on the out alone yard, boyz
Not in the SHU II
I'm in the SHU too
Back in the SHU II D.R.

[Verse 3]
Now the Ukraine psych doctor Anderchuck
She brings me peace of mind
No psycho pills make me scream and shout
But Jasmine's always on my mi mi mi mi mi mi mind [so it's on!]

[Solo/riff, repeat chorus 2 (lines 1, 2, 5) verse 3]

Yo California shut the SHU down north and south
U$A from east to west
You just gave them property that I'm allowed
No guitar but all the rest

Just like in the SHU II D.R.
Can't settle for C.D.C.R. ploys
Back in the SHU II D.R.

Go to:
http://www.guitaretab.com/b/beatles/24462.html for the chords. If you haven't figured this out yet, "Back in the SHU II D.R." is a parody of the Beatles hit song "Back in the U.S.S.R.". Isn't Paul in town? Send him a copy.

Notes:
"Grade A" is a privilege status. "S.Q.A.C." is San Quentin Adjustment Center. The out alone yard mentioned in chorus 2 consists of dozens of cages under a huge metal canopy which blocks all sun except what pierces through rust holes in it. Jasmine is the brand name of my guitar. California's SHUs are getting more like the Security Housing Unit II for death row ? the SHU II D.R. known as East Block. And in many ways it's all the same... only the names have changed... and every day I feel I'm wasting away... Alright now.

Walking Around With Your Eyes Wide Shut

Thinking back on all the times we spent
Running here, running there
Never taking the first step.
Conditioned to what's around you
Living in the puppet show of life

Dancing along, singing their song
Slowly stirring from slumber
All the bright colors often dimmed to their liking
Seeing with new eyes all the wonder
Pulling at the chains as they get tighter

The more you see, things ain't what they seem
The more you learn, things ain't what they should be
The more you know, running from their rules
You're living in their fantasy
It's time to wake up and break the chains!

Walking around with your eyes wide shut
Thinking you're in a land of the free
Seeing it's only the land of deceit
Speaking your mind is an act of terrorism
Breaking the chains piece by piece

Get a new state of mind
Relearning what never should have been forgotten
Bracing yourself for what is yet to come
Praying for strength to carry on
Holding true to your beliefs.

Revolutionary Diary

What it's like
The reasons why
The things a persyn must do
or die
You'll never understand
The strength it takes
To embrace my fate
Time and time again
Being spit at for what I am
You'll never understand
You curse me to hell subtly
Telling me not to fight this system
Don't file lawsuits against it
Then you say you love me
You'll never understand
Everything about you is a contradiction
Sick consumer puppets of imperialism
Parasitic existences mind washed into believing in
"corrections", "terrorism", white male supremacy
You'll never understand
I'm on my third lawsuit
My fifth year straight solitary
Took me a whole generation to discern the compliment
Each time you spit at me

Stand Up

Throw a fist in the air for Fred, George, and Marx
Oppression we override all it takes is heart
This is for my comrades who recognize the trap
This a unified movement far from a rap
Let's seize the time the government we overthrow
And eliminate spies informing on the low
All nations we together as one
With our lives on the line freedom shall come
Nothing is given, it's taken and demanded
It's a war with the oppressed left standing
Organize your mind focus on the war
Dumping on the pigs, peace to Assata Shakur
The struggle on the rise this I truly see
This is dedicated to the people who standing on their feet
It's a war going on nobody is safe
Birthing solid troops who don't bind, fold or break
The past is present and the present is the past
Oppressed against oppressor forever we clash
21 guns comrades truly honored
Too many sold us out I call 'em transformers
All power to the people who fear nothing on this land
We learn from the past with an organized plan
United Blood Nation riding with the Panthers
I'm standing on mine with revolutionary standards
In this war blood must be shed
Either them or us that's what Denmark said
I pledge allegiance to the struggle my life is dedicated
My words uplift for those who motivated
First and foremost all my true brothers stand up
We will never fall cause we always stand up!
