Prisoners Report on Conditions in

Wynne Unit - Federal

Got legal skills? Help out with writing letters to appeal censorship of MIM Distributors by prison staff. help out

www.prisoncensorship.info is a media institution run by the Maoist Internationalist Ministry of Prisons. Here we collect and publicize reports of conditions behind the bars in U.$. prisons. Information about these incidents rarely makes it out of the prison, and when it does it is extremely rare that the reports are taken seriously and published. This historical record is important for documenting patterns of abuse, and also for informing people on the streets about what goes on behind the bars.

We hope this information will inspire people to take action and join the fight against the criminal injustice system. While we may not be able to immediately impact this particular instance of abuse, we can work to fundamentally change the system that permits and perpetuates it. The criminal injustice system is intimately tied up with imperialism, and serves as a tool of social control on the homeland, particularly targeting oppressed nations.

Theft of Indigent Supplies at Wynne

I am requesting a copy or two of the criminal sworn complaint so I can file criminal charges against two TDCJ-CID staff members on this unit (Wynne) that I am incarcerated on. These two staff members who work in the Wynne Unit Law library are denying me weekly indigent supplies and sessions to attend the law library to do research. About 3 months now I haven't been able to write letters to my family or legal activists in the free world.

I have had two investigations conducted on this unit law library now by the Mayor's Office and the Access to Courts Office in Huntsville, TX. Nothing has been done to these law library offices yet. The inmate clerks have been stealing or shall I say been given the indigent supplies by the officers so they can sell the supplies to other inmates on their cell blocks for commissary items (food). The indigent supplies consist of typing paper, pens, envelopes, plain, brown legal envelopes and stamps. These officials and inmates are trying to cover up the theft ring by charging the supplies to me and other offenders.

The Prison and Jail Operations Director has sent a copy of my complaint to the Unit Senior Warden, Rocky Moore, to investigate and resolve now. I had an interview with the warden last Friday and he said he would see into it and resolve the problem. So for now I got to traffic and trade in order to get mail and letters out to the free world agencies and my family and lawyers. So these sworn complaint forms will be my next move to prosecute the crooked staff members on this unit. All help is Appreciated and Accepted at this time.

Property Destruction and Theft at Wynne Unit

The Wynne Unit in Huntsville, Texas is not using responsible searches as posted by the Federal act of Search & Seizures. On 5-6-19, searches began where they destroy family photos, Muslim prayer rugs and things that we buy at the store. Even the sheets they give us themselves have been ripped in half; all because they think they got the right to do so after catching some stupid people smoking K-2 and several were stuck and hospitalized. They're falsely accusing offenders and not respecting their own policies. Like females that catch an an offender using the restroom, they're calling code 205—they haven't even announced themselves as policy says they should and the cases are running through because of a bias in favor of ranking staff. All trash, even the Grievance System is straight BooBoo.

Abuse and Censorship at Wynne

I really appreciate you for informing me of this policy for an appeal of all rejected publications from different units, but this unit I'm on (Wynne) isn't given a person or persons and opportunity to appeal our right to have ULK 63 at all. I hope and pray that we win this case in receiving all of Under Lock & Key pamphlets with no problem. There is no riots or strikes or disruptions going on at this prison that I'm on at all, period. These old folks are just waiting to die and the authorities aren't making it easy for us to just do our time. Some are getting parole while others are dying and suffering a beat down handcuff beating.

These officers are out of line handling us old people the way they treat us, slam to the ground while in handcuffs, you grieve the incident and are retaliated on when no life flight going over the railing from the third tier. You might survive the fall and you may wish you didn't make it because you be in so much pain. Old people's bones heal very slowly.

Some of us like to have some help from the outside world to get political news to read on all what's happening around the nation and to stay connected to the free world even though you'll never be able to go back to the world ever again.

Reading the notification to the Director's Review Committee 11/2/2018 for Under Lock & Key No. 63 on my denied yellow paper says Reason C, page 1 and 5 advocate prison disruption/strike. But reading what's on these pages of that booklet there's nothing of that such. See they have taken all the manual's out of the law library on procedure to fight them when they are wrong in wronging one of us on their own policies.

These pages in ULK 63 said "publications shall not be rejected solely because the publication advocates the legitimate use of offender grievance procedures, urges offenders to contact public representatives about prison conditions, or contains criticism of prison authorities."

This don't have anything to do with reason C at all. There is no material that a reasonable person would construe as written solely for the purpose of communicating information designed to achieve the breakdown of prisons, through offender disruption such as strikes, riots or security threat group activity at all period. So TDCJ denied the publication because they didn't like what they was reading and denied it out of spite, but the law is the law and they is not exempt from the law (DRC) and it is going down.

Illegal Censorship of Subscriptions

I often never receive my Popular Mechanics magainzes or my Bud K Knives catalogs I've subscribed to. I'm not denied them, they just don't get here to me. I've written to both numerous times and never have heard back from them. They also often lay blame on the local post office for various reasons as well.

Grievance Campaign needed in Texas

I received your magazine Under Lock & Key. I appreciate the magazine and the helpful information inside. I did have a small problem with the mailroom here, who at first withheld the magazine for 7 days claiming pages 1 and 5 advocates prison disruption and strike. After much prayer and filing a grievance, seven days later the mailroom here gave your magazine to me.

I’m experiencing serious problems here at the Wynne Unit in Texas. With my grievance being processed, such as delays, unanswered grievances. And harassment and conspiracy by the grievance investigators at the Wynne Unit by the name of Doyle W. Davis and Preston H. Gadan II.

Grievance officers Doyle Davis and Preston Gajan harass and conspire with their fellow employees when an inmate files a grievance against an officer. When your grievance has merits, Davis and Gajan either will not answer your grievance or they will return your grievance unprocessed.

The grievance officer never explains how to correct the grievance or how to resubmit. I want to join your campaign “We demand our grievances are addressed.” I’m requesting that you send me a petition for the state-level of Texas. And I’m requesting a copy of your new follow-up petition written to Federal Law.

Texas mail "lost" or delayed

Today I was denied the latest issue of ULK due to TDCJ BP.31, Reason C, page H5 advocates prison disruption/strike and it was a non-appealable item of course. Mrs. Thomas (Wayne Unit Mail Room Supervisor) informed me, when I inquired as to why so many people also weren't receiving their paid for magazine subscriptions, "Yes, I know, we aren't getting them here." And of course she doesn't know who could have held them up wither, "it must be the post office," which I know better. A lot of my mail is routed through zip code 77320-3144 office of TDCJ Director Bryan Collier and others, including the Inmate Trust Fund/Commissary Supervisor.

I have a lot of trouble receiving my Federal Credit Union statement that's sent out the 22nd of each month (PENFED in Alexandria, VA 22313) and I may it get 8 to 15 days later. My Truck Round Up Magazine, BUD K catalog, Popular Mechanics, and Reminisce of my eleven various subscriptions are most often to take the longest getting to me and sometimes not at all.

Mrs. Thomas swears TDCJ has nothing to do with it either. My mother and sister are retired postal employees and I know the post office is over 99% effective and reliable. TDCJ, on the other hand, isn't at all trustworthy! I've fought this issue over a decade now with absolutely no positive results and don't know what else to do or who to contact about it, the ARRM director says they don't answer prisoner questions/mail, if you have a problem, submit a grievance, which, of course, do not work for prisoners at all. Perhaps you have something that could help? Thank you, and I did immediately submit a step 1 grievance too.

Fighting roaches, rodents and dangerous conditions in Texas

I've recently been transferred to the AD-Seg section of the Wynne Farm here in beautiful Huntsville, TX. (Whoa hold on a sec, the roaches are trying to carry me off, let me kill a few)- alright that's better.) Anyway on the conditions here, well, to begin, we have a "small" infestation of roaches (and/or rodents). With the lights on it's not so bad, they only attempt to carry you off your bunk. But turn the lights off and only the steel cage you live in will keep you in! I've never seen so many roaches! The weather here is below 40° and we are limited to 1 sheet to cover ourselves with. It's beyond cruel and unusual as a punishment.

There are two 14th amendment claims that I wrote the Department of Justice on today, as well as filed a grievance over. The first is the mop closet that has been converted to a shower that we are forced to use if we intended to be hygienic. It's not equipped with anything beyond a leaky pipe that is supposed to suffice for a shower head. I speak of the constitutional claim because there are many of us that are legally disabled and confined to canes, crutches, etc. There are no handles, seats, etc. It's beyond a safety hazard. The second is the denial of our recreation/outside of cell time because we are on said disabilities. In my attempt to go utilize my 1 hour out of cell a week this Saturday, I was told I couldn't go outside and take my cane for worry of offender assault with such! Likewise, another offender was denied at the same time because of his crutches! Like I said, I've filed and will bring this claim before the U.S. district court as soon as administrative remedy is exhausted.

I've tried to push the "inmates" on my block to band together for a grievance campaign but they just ignored such and went on about their urbane idiocy and mindless chatter! Oh well, fuck 'em and their desire to stay stupid and pre-programmed by the system they claim to hate yet support, if only through inaction.

You know, I'm not sure I've mentioned it, but I landed in seg. because I disassociated myself from an STG group, racially bound to a constitution (supposedly), so that I could further my maturity and growth, without being bound to an outside influence of an ideology that amounted to less than the words they used, to lie to themselves, so that they could convince themselves that they were more than they could ever be. I stepped aside because I'm a man and they made me beat one half to death to prove it, as they pulled a knife on me!

I'm white and I'm proud. However, I'm also a revolutionary thinker and a soldier in every sense of the word. I'll bet they never question that again. I wanted to state that because too often in the ULK publication I see reference to "white imperialism" and I know you speak of the powers that be, but even so it hurts my heart because of the work I put in to further our cause. Anyway, love and respect to all those like minded generals, thinkers, and soldiers of our revolutionary struggle. Below is an update to the law library section of the Texas Rack. In solidarity!

Pressure On in Wynne

2018 May 7 - You may have seen on the national news a large number of medium custody offenders are on hunger strike. Their main grievance is Warden Strong using group punishment for the actions of individual inmates.

She placed the wing on 30-day lockdown because one inmate was accused of staff assault in the hallway. The incident did not even happen on the wing itself. As a result, the inmate was moved to the disciplinary wing and shipped from the unit. The other 200 men, who had nothing to do with the incident, were put on 30-day lockdown with no hot meals. And all of their cells were trashed by officers doing "cell searches."

As a result of the media coverage, internal affairs started an investigation into inmates' claims about the time the unit was hit with a Norovirus outbreak that lasted for 3 weeks. For the immedate future, all grievances are going off unit for review.

I would like the Texas Pack to help inmates file legitimate grievances. For example, being held in dayrooms without a toilet for 3+ hours when cell access is supposed to be granted hourly. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I've enclosed a SASE.

Narovirus Lockdown at Wynne

5 May 2018 - The unit has been on lockdown because of a virus that had all of us throwing up and could hardly walk. They locked us down for 30 days but did nothing. It was Naro. Look it up. They had this unit on the internet and Facebook. Then they had 140 offenders that went on hunger strike for some of the wrongdoings that are still going on with the officer. I write more on that later but for now just keep up the good work.

Assasination or Retaliation?

An I60 is a form used throughout Texas Prisons as a means of paper communication. On the Wynne Unit, and perhaps other units, an "Escape I60" is supposedly an I60 written by another inmate claiming that an inmate is planning to escape. The I60 is unsigned.

An "Escape I60" is used to "lock up" inmates in a segregation cell, a.k.a., PHD. An "investigation" is supposed to occur usually, a few inmates are called out in the middle of the night to sign statements that they have not heard of anyone looking to escape.

There are sometimes other reasons that are used to "lock up" an inmate.

On 5/9/18 I was called out and told an "Escape I60" was written on me. It stated that I was planning to escape and had stolen an officer's ID.

Questions:

  1. Wouldn't you immediately check to see if an officer's ID was missing?
  2. If not, wouldn't that indicate that the I60 was BOGUS?

The officers who took my statement as to how false this was, also asked if I possibly knew who wrote it. I said that I have a new cell mate but have no proof that he or any other inmate wrote it. Later I remembered that the officers also said the I60 stated I intended to harm Nurse Jackie Fisher.

On 4/3/18 when I incured a urinary tract obstruction and was taken to medical, I was refused medical care. It took almost 26 hours for the obstruction to clear at which time my urination was painful and had blood. The nurse who refused me was Jackie Fisher. The officer who took me to medical and told me that Jackie Fisher had refused medical care, was the same officer interviewing me.

COINCIDENCE?

I also realized that I had told NO inmate this. I had only conveyed this in letters and grievances. Something only officers/staff have access to. I recently filed 6 grievances.

Inmates say that only a few "Escape I60s" are written by other inmates. Most believe that a majority of "Escape I60s" are written by officers looking to lock inmates up—retaliation?

One inmate was locked up for almost 30 days because an I60 claimed he intended to assassinate Warden Strong. Warden Strong actually came to see this inmate.

If officers on the Wynne unit "truly" beleived that someone was planning to assassinate Warden Strong, why didn't they alert local law enforcement or the FBI?
